Translate your credentials for U.S. employers
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 visa purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-recognized body so your degree field clearly maps to supply chain, business, or a related specialty.
Target procurement teams with global supply chains
Fortune 500 manufacturers, technology firms, and healthcare networks with established sourcing functions file LCAs regularly. Filter DOL's OFLC disclosure data by job title and state to identify employers who have sponsored similar strategic sourcing roles before.
Frame your sourcing scope in specialty occupation terms
E-3 requires the role to demand a specific bachelor's degree field. Emphasize category management, supplier analytics, and contract strategy in your resume so the job description maps cleanly to procurement or supply chain management as a defined specialty occupation.
Secure a certified LCA before your consulate appointment
Your employer must file and receive a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL before you can attend your visa interview. This typically takes seven business days. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so nothing delays your start date.
Negotiate the sponsorship conversation before accepting an offer
Many U.S. employers confuse the E-3 with the H-1B lottery and assume sponsorship is expensive or uncertain. Clarify upfront that the E-3 has no cap, no lottery, and a straightforward employer process so their HR team doesn't stall or withdraw.
Plan your renewal timeline around contract cycles
E-3 status is granted in two-year increments tied to your employment. If your sourcing role involves multi-year supplier contracts, align your renewal filing with those cycles so a lapse in status doesn't interrupt active negotiations or ongoing supplier relationships.
E-3 Visa Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager roles filtered specifically for E-3 visa sponsorship. Most standard job boards don't distinguish E-3 from H-1B, so you waste time on roles where employers assume lottery exposure. Migrate Mate surfaces employers who have sponsored comparable procurement and supply chain roles, letting you focus outreach on realistic targets.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related discipline. Roles that accept any degree in any field can fail the specialty occupation test. Your employer's job description should tie sourcing responsibilities directly to degree-level expertise in procurement or a related analytical field.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Strategic Sourcing Manager roles?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so your employer can file at any time of year and expect approval without a randomized selection process. The H-1B is capped at 85,000 per year with a lottery that rejects most registrants. For a sourcing role where your employer needs a defined start date tied to a contract or headcount plan, the E-3 is a materially more reliable path.
Can I change employers or take on a new sourcing role while on E-3 status?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA and your new role must independently qualify as a specialty occupation. You can't transfer an existing E-3 to a new employer the way an H-1B holder uses portability. Plan for at least two to three weeks of lead time so the new LCA is certified before your first day, particularly if you're mid-negotiation on supplier contracts.
