Verify your degree maps to the role
U.S. consular officers assess whether your Australian degree directly relates to the Logistics Specialist position. A supply chain, business, or industrial engineering degree strengthens your case. A general management degree may require supporting documentation showing field-specific coursework.
Target employers with DOL-certified LCA history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for employers who have filed LCAs for logistics and supply chain roles. Employers already familiar with the LCA process are far less likely to withdraw an offer over unfamiliar paperwork.
Get your credential evaluation done early
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees, but your employer's HR team may not know this. A credential evaluation from a NACES-accredited body pre-empts delays once an offer is extended.
Clarify sponsorship before the final interview round
Many logistics employers know the role but not the E-3 visa process. Bring a one-page explainer covering the LCA filing timeline and the fact that E-3 carries no lottery risk. Raising it early avoids last-minute surprises from HR or legal.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service after accepting an offer
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles your LCA certification with the DOL, prepares your DS-160, and readies your consulate package. This reduces the employer's administrative burden and keeps your start date on track.
Align your consulate appointment with your start date
E-3 visas are issued at Australian consulates in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth, with wait times that vary by location and season. Confirm your target start date with your employer before booking, then work backward from typical appointment lead times to avoid a gap.
E-3 Visa Logistics Specialist: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Logistics Specialist jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can filter Logistics Specialist positions by employers who have a history of sponsoring visa holders, which cuts out the guesswork of cold-applying and hoping the HR team knows what an E-3 is.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Logistics Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined. A Logistics Specialist position that requires a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, or a related field will typically meet the specialty occupation standard. Generic operations roles where any degree is accepted may not qualify. The job description and your employer's internal requirements both matter at the consulate.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Logistics Specialist roles?
The E-3 has no lottery, no annual cap pressure, and can be renewed indefinitely in two-year increments as long as you hold a qualifying role. The H-1B visa requires entering a lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate for most applicants. For Australian logistics professionals, the E-3 is a direct path that doesn't depend on random selection.
Can I switch logistics employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes. Changing employers on an E-3 requires your new employer to file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you to either apply for a new visa at an Australian consulate or file a change of status with USCIS if you are already inside the United States. You cannot begin work for the new employer until the new LCA is certified and the visa or status change is approved.
