INTRODUCTION
Marketing at Gensler is where strong marketers become great ones, and the Marketing Coordinator role is where that arc begins. We're looking for a candidate who is ready to take on real ownership, learn fast, and grow inside one of the largest, most experienced marketing teams in the industry, someone whose curiosity, instincts, and skillset are starting to outpace their current role.
Our marketers are valued not only for what they produce, but for what they bring to the table: the questions they ask, the ideas they raise, the relationships they build, and the way they sharpen how we tell our story. The Marketing Coordinator role is where those instincts start to take shape, alongside the production fluency, design judgment, and strategic thinking that define a strong marketer.
As a Marketing Coordinator in our Work sector, you will partner with senior marketers, principals, designers, and strategists on pursuits across financial services, professional services, legal, technology, media, and other workplace-driven industries for some of the most influential organizations in New York and beyond.
This role is part producer, part collaborator, part student of the craft. You will own the start-to-end production of marketing collateral and proposal sections, contribute to pursuit planning, and learn directly from marketers who shape how Gensler competes.
You will work with a global network of marketers, based out of the largest design office in the world, with access to Gensler's research and thought leadership platforms — including the firm's Workplace Survey and global benchmarking data — to ground your work in real insight. The work is fast-paced and rarely the same twice: a flagship financial services headquarters one week, a global media campus the next, an AI hub the week after.
As you progress, you will develop the strategic instincts, design fluency, production rigor, and relationship range to move from supporting pursuits to helping shape them.
You'll join one of the firm's most experienced marketing teams supporting work across 33 practice areas. The team brings a high level of craft, rigor, and generosity to the work. You'll work closely with them, collaborate daily, and build the kind of dynamic that only forms inside a team that takes its work seriously. Every Coordinator is paired with a senior marketer for the first six months to accelerate ramp-up and ensure direct mentorship from day one.
Within 90 days, you'll be producing high-quality proposal sections and collateral with minimal revisions, oriented to studio workflows and brand standards. By six months, you'll be a trusted production partner to senior marketers, owning end-to-end execution on mid-size pursuits. By twelve months, you'll be contributing to pursuit strategy decisions and identified for stretch projects and increased ownership.
At Gensler, we bring the scale, complexity, and support to help strong marketers specialize, lead, or build new professional lanes where their interests, capabilities, and the firm's needs intersect.
YOUR ROLE
You've spent the last few years building real skills: proposal production, design, writing, project management. You can handle volume. You’re the one who catches the typo on page 47. You know how to make something look good and read well, and you want deeper involvement in pursuit strategy.
You're a strong writer with sharp visual instincts and a natural eye for detail. You're calm under pressure because you've been there — fast turnarounds, multiple deliverables, and last-minute pivots.
You ask smart questions, raise your hand when you need help, and just as readily raise it when you see a way to make something better. You're curious about new tools and techniques, alert to where technology can give the team an edge and are energized by figuring out smarter ways to work.
This isn't a fit for someone content to stay in a narrow production lane. It's a fit for someone who wants to grow into a real marketing leader.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- End-to-end production of marketing collateral, BD assets, and proposal sections - taking real responsibility, not just executing tasks
- Partnership with marketing specialists and leaders on proposal development, design, and writing in alignment with Gensler's brand standards
- Contribution to pursuit planning and win strategy conversations
- Multiple parallel projects and deadlines, with the discipline to manage them without sacrificing quality
- Marketing resources — resumes, case stories, project libraries — kept current, accurate, and trusted
- Deep familiarity with Gensler's portfolio, practice areas, and firm-wide capabilities
- Special projects that elevate the quality of our marketing output
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of marketing or communications experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Journalism, Business, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong graphic design and visual communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Learning mindset — curious about emerging tools and technologies, open to new ways of working, and motivated to keep growing
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, or Premiere Pro
- Familiarity with Google Slides, Miro, or AI-enabled creative/workflow tools
- Experience at an architecture, interior design, or AEC firm is a plus
To be considered, please submit a cover letter, resume, and 2–3 work samples or a portfolio. Your cover letter should address the key characteristics highlighted in this position description and communicate why your skillset, experience, and background make you a strong fit for this role.
Gensler's NYC marketing team is actively growing. We are considering candidates across multiple levels and encourage you to apply to the role that best matches your experience. If you're between levels or unsure, apply to either and we will evaluate fit holistically.
COMPENSATION
- The base salary range will be estimated between $70,000 - $80,000. Gensler’s total compensation package is multi-layered and includes a base salary, two annual bonuses paid in December and June.

In addition, we reimburse tuition for certain eligible programs or classes. We view our professional development programs as strategic investments in our future.

Match your degree field to the role
E-3 visa eligibility requires your degree to align specifically with marketing or communications, not just any bachelor's degree. If your Australian qualification is in a related field like business, document the marketing coursework explicitly when your employer prepares the LCA.
Target employers with active LCA history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for companies that have filed LCAs for marketing roles. Employers already familiar with the LCA certification process move faster and are less likely to stall on sponsorship paperwork.
Prepare a U.S.-style resume before applying
Australian CVs often include personal details that U.S. hiring managers don't expect and sometimes flag. Strip out your photo, date of birth, and nationality. Lead with a summary that frames your experience against U.S. marketing contexts like paid social, demand generation, or content strategy.
Clarify sponsorship timing before your first interview
Many marketing teams assume E-3 sponsorship takes months and triggers an H-1B visa-level process. Address it early: the E-3 has no lottery, no quota, and an LCA can certify within seven business days, so your start date doesn't need to shift substantially.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service after your offer
Once you have a signed offer letter, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This keeps the employer's HR load minimal and reduces the chance of documentation errors that delay your consulate appointment.
Verify your employer is registered with E-Verify
E-Verify registration isn't required for E-3 employers generally, but many larger marketing teams and agencies require it internally. Confirm your prospective employer's status early so you're not discovering compliance gaps after you've accepted an offer.
E-3 Visa Marketing Coordinator: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Marketing Coordinator jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search Migrate Mate to find Marketing Coordinator roles from employers with a history of E-3 and work visa sponsorship. Most generic job boards don't filter by visa type, which means you spend time on roles where sponsorship was never an option. Migrate Mate surfaces opportunities specifically relevant to Australian nationals seeking E-3 sponsorship.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Marketing Coordinator role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, when the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or a closely related field. The role needs to be framed around specialized knowledge, not general administrative coordination. Job postings that say 'degree preferred' rather than 'degree required' create eligibility risk, so it's worth confirming the degree requirement is stated explicitly in your offer letter.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Marketing Coordinator roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has no annual lottery and no cap, unlike the H-1B. For Marketing Coordinator roles, this means your employer doesn't need to enter a random selection process or wait for a fiscal year window. You can apply and start as soon as your LCA is certified and your consulate appointment is complete, which typically takes two to six weeks.
Can I switch employers or get promoted while on an E-3 as a Marketing Coordinator?
You can change employers or change roles, but each move requires a new LCA and either a new visa stamp or a change of status filing. A promotion that significantly changes your job duties, such as moving from coordinator to manager, typically requires a new LCA even with the same employer. Plan for a two-to-four week LCA certification period when timing internal promotions or employer transitions.
