Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Your degree field must directly relate to enterprise sales leadership. A bachelor's in business, marketing, or management maps cleanly. A degree in an unrelated field requires documented coursework equivalency before your employer files the LCA.
Target companies with active E-3 or LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify employers who have previously certified LCAs for account director or sales leadership roles. Prior filings signal an established internal process and reduce approval friction.
Address the prevailing wage requirement early in negotiations
Your employer's LCA must certify that your offered salary meets the DOL prevailing wage for the role's location and SOC code. Raise this during offer negotiation so HR can verify wage compliance before filing, not after.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the full process
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork from start to consulate appointment. This avoids delays from employers who are unfamiliar with E-3 visa requirements.
Request a contingent start date tied to LCA certification
DOL LCA certification takes around seven business days. Ask your employer to set your start date contingent on certification clearance, not a fixed calendar date. This prevents onboarding delays if certification runs over the standard window.
Prepare a specialty occupation justification for the interview
U.S. consular officers sometimes question whether account director roles require a specific degree. Bring documentation showing the role's responsibilities demand specialized business or technical knowledge, not just general sales experience.
E-3 Visa Enterprise Account Director: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Enterprise Account Director jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search. It filters roles by E-3 sponsorship eligibility so you're only seeing employers open to Australian nationals. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, which means most results require additional manual screening to confirm sponsorship willingness.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Enterprise Account Director role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as business, marketing, or a related discipline. Roles framed as general sales management without a degree requirement can face scrutiny. Your offer letter and job description should explicitly state the degree requirement for the position.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Enterprise Account Director roles?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply any time you have a qualifying offer. The H-1B visa is subject to an annual lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate for most applicants. For Australian nationals in account director roles, the E-3 is a faster and more predictable path to U.S. employment.
Can I change employers on an E-3 visa after accepting an Enterprise Account Director role?
Yes, but the E-3 is employer-specific, so your new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new visa stamp before starting with them. There's no portability provision like the H-1B's AC21. Plan for a gap between your last day and your new start date to accommodate processing time.
