Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Marketing Director
Frame your Australian credentials for U.S. hiring
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 specialty occupation purposes. Document your degree with a credential evaluation before you start applying so employers don't stall at the offer stage.
Target employers with existing LCA filing history
Search DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for marketing leadership roles. Prior LCA filings signal the employer already understands the sponsorship process and won't back out after an offer.
Clarify the job description matches your degree field
Marketing Director roles can get scrutinized if the job posting lists broad business duties rather than marketing-specific responsibilities. Before signing an offer, confirm the description ties the role to a specific field your degree covers, since the DOL LCA and consulate both review this alignment.
Address sponsorship directly in early interviews
Raise your E-3 status in the first substantive conversation, not after a verbal offer. Explaining that the E-3 has no lottery and requires only an LCA and visa appointment removes the misconception that sponsoring an Australian is as complex as filing an H-1B petition.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the offer phase
Once you have a written offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This prevents the delays that happen when employers assign the filing to HR staff unfamiliar with DOL certification timelines.
Understand how consulate timing affects your start date
Unlike H-1B change-of-status filings, E-3 applications go through consular processing in Australia. Factor in appointment availability at Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth when negotiating your start date so your employer sets a realistic onboarding timeline.

Find Marketing Director JobsMarketing Director E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Marketing Director jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australians searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can filter by job title and visa type to surface Marketing Director positions at employers already open to sponsoring Australian nationals, which saves the time of screening out roles that won't support the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Marketing Director role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position normally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as marketing, communications, or business. The key test is whether the role is defined by a body of specialized knowledge tied to a specific degree field. Broad executive roles with no degree requirement for the specific field can create complications, so a tightly drafted job description matters.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for a Marketing Director role?
Both visas cover specialty occupations, but the E-3 is available only to Australian citizens and has no lottery. An H-1B application enters an annual random selection process with no guarantee of being chosen, which can delay the start of a senior marketing role by a year or more. The E-3 lets you move from signed offer to consulate appointment without that uncertainty.
Can I change employers after starting a Marketing Director role on an E-3?
Yes, but you need a new Labor Condition Application and a new E-3 visa tied to the incoming employer before you begin work. You can travel to Australia for a new consulate appointment while on a valid E-3, or time the transition between visa validity periods. There is no portability provision equivalent to AC21 for E-3 holders, so the new filing must be completed before you switch roles.
