Description -
HP is seeking to identify highly motivated and qualified individuals for various future opportunities. Although there may not be an immediate opening, in anticipation of these opportunities becoming available, completing a profile will allow us to evaluate your qualifications and interests and will allow us to stay connected.
The Technical Consultant engages with customers to understand their business needs, designs tailored IT solutions, and presents these solutions as a trusted advisor. This role leverages technical expertise to remove barriers in the selling process, articulates the value proposition of HP products and services, and supports both the sales team and customers throughout the engagement. The Technical Consultant is responsible for technical solution development, Pre-sales support, and ensuring successful adoption and integration of HP solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build technical expertise within assigned solution areas.
- Deliver standard presentations and demonstrations.
- Support opportunity execution and technical validation activities.
- Develop customer-facing consulting and influence skills.
- Work independently on routine engagements while leveraging coaching as needed.
- Travel to customer sites regularly to drive HP brand preference and lead solution evaluations.
- Collaborate with customers, partners, and account teams to understand business requirements and design tailored IT solutions that align with technical capabilities and business objectives.
- Design and present solution architectures aligned to customer goals.
- Lead product demonstrations, workshops, technical presentations.
- Conduct technical evaluations, validate solution feasibility, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies to drive business outcomes and customer value.
- Develop technical documentation, specifications, and pricing models for proposals.
- Educate clients on technical aspects of solutions and integration with existing infrastructure.
- Conduct proof-of-concepts (PoCs) or pilot projects to demonstrate solution value in real-world environments.
- Build strong, ongoing relationships with prospective clients, addressing technical queries and concerns throughout the sales cycle.
- Provide training and support to the sales team on technical aspects of products and solutions.
- Perform competitive analysis and advise the sales team on effective product positioning.
- Collaborate with sales team members to uncover new opportunities and build lasting relationships with technical decision-makers.
- Lead meetings and presentations to gather insights into client IT infrastructure, challenges, and goals.
- Qualify potential opportunities and develop comprehensive, customized technical solutions.
- Support the sales team in creating and delivering impactful presentations and demonstrations.
- Respond promptly and accurately to customer technical inquiries and concerns.
- Work closely with internal teams - sales, product management, engineering, marketing, and services organizations - to ensure proposed solutions are fully aligned with customer needs.
- Provide hands-on technical assistance during proof-of-concepts and evaluations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings.
- Achieve assigned business objectives, including revenue, pipeline, customer satisfaction, and growth goals as applicable.
Education & Experience Recommended:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Experience: Relevant experience in technical consulting, Pre-sales, or solution development typically with 2-4 years of technical sales experience

- Proven experience in technical solution development and Pre-sales support.
- Experience in IT infrastructure, networking, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong understanding of market trends and ability to turn insights into business opportunities.

Hiring Locations: We are looking to hire candidates across the below mentioned locations: California, Washington DC, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
The on-target earnings (OTE) range for this role is $110k to $130k annually. There are additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonuses and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
