Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Network Administrator
Verify your degree maps to the role
A three-year Australian IT degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year bachelor's for E-3 visa purposes, but your offer letter must tie the role's requirements to a specific field. A generic 'any bachelor's degree accepted' job description weakens the specialty occupation argument.
Target employers with active IT infrastructure teams
Focus on mid-to-large organisations with dedicated network engineering or infrastructure functions. Companies that already employ international IT staff are more familiar with LCA obligations and less likely to withdraw sponsorship at the paperwork stage.
Confirm the LCA wage tier before accepting
The DOL-certified LCA must show your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your specific SOC code and work location. Network Administrator roles in metropolitan markets often sit at Wage Level II or III, so negotiate your offer against that benchmark before signing.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and visa paperwork
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage the LCA submission, DS-160, and consulate preparation end-to-end. This avoids the common error of submitting LCA job duties that don't align with what you described in your interview.
Address remote and hybrid roles carefully at the consulate
If your Network Administrator role is partially remote, the LCA must list every physical worksite where you'll perform duties. Consular officers sometimes probe work location during E-3 interviews, so know which office or data centre appears on your certified LCA.
Prepare credential documentation before job searching
Gather your academic transcripts, ITIL or Cisco certifications, and a detailed employment history showing hands-on network administration responsibilities. Australian credentials not issued in English will need certified translation before your consulate appointment.
E-3 Visa Network Administrator: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Network Administrator jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended way to search for Network Administrator roles where U.S. employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards rarely filter by visa type, so you end up applying to roles where the hiring team has no familiarity with the E-3 process. Migrate Mate surfaces roles matched to Australian professionals, removing that guesswork.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Network Administrator role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field such as information technology, computer science, or network engineering. Roles framed around general IT support or where any degree suffices are harder to qualify. The job description and LCA must both reflect a degree-specific requirement for the E-3 to hold up at the consulate.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Network Administrator roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens but has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply as soon as you have a job offer and a certified LCA. H-1B visa requires registration in a lottery that accepts roughly one in four applications. For Australians in network administration, the E-3 is the faster and more predictable path to U.S. employment.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Network Administrator?
Yes, but the E-3 is employer-specific. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new visa stamp if you travel internationally before the change takes effect. Unlike H-1B portability, there's no grace period that lets you start work immediately on a pending LCA alone, so time your transition carefully to avoid a gap in authorised employment.
