Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Nursing Assistant
Verify your credential equivalency before applying
Australian Certificate III or IV in Individual Support is not automatically recognised as a U.S. CNA credential. Contact your target state's nursing board to confirm equivalency requirements and complete any gap training before submitting applications.
Target health systems with existing LCA filing history
Large hospital networks and multi-site aged care operators file Labor Condition Applications regularly, which signals an established E-3 sponsorship process. Smaller clinics often lack HR infrastructure to support the DOL filing steps required for your visa.
Get your state CNA license lined up early
Most U.S. employers require active state certification before extending an offer, not after. Research the Nurse Aide Registry in your target state and initiate the endorsement or examination process while you're still job searching.
Use Migrate Mate to handle your LCA and visa paperwork
The DOL LCA must be certified before your consulate appointment, and the sequence is easy to get wrong. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage the entire process from offer acceptance through to your visa interview preparation.
Negotiate your offer against the prevailing wage threshold
Your employer must certify to DOL that your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for Nursing Assistants in that geographic area. Confirm the wage level before signing so your LCA doesn't get flagged for underpayment during DOL review.
Prepare a specialisation brief for your consulate interview
Nursing Assistant is a hands-on care role, so consular officers sometimes probe the specialty occupation requirement closely. Document your specific clinical or aged care duties, your certificate, and any unit-specific training to substantiate the E-3 qualification.

Find Nursing Assistant JobsNursing Assistant E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Nursing Assistant jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Filtering by job title and employer sponsorship history narrows results to facilities that have already demonstrated willingness and capacity to support the LCA and visa process, which saves significant time compared to cold outreach.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Nursing Assistant role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It can qualify, but the bar requires showing that the role normally demands a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a specific field. Employers typically support this by documenting that the position involves specialised clinical assessment, care planning, or unit-specific responsibilities beyond routine aide duties. A generic entry-level listing without that framing may face consular scrutiny.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Nursing Assistant roles in the U.S.?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and is available exclusively to Australian citizens, meaning you can apply at any time of year once you have a job offer and certified LCA. The H-1B caps at 85,000 registrations annually and uses a random lottery. For Australians in nursing support roles, the E-3 is a far more predictable path to U.S. employment.
Can I switch Nursing Assistant employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and support a new visa or status update before you begin work with them. You can't transfer an approved E-3 from one facility to another. If you're already inside the U.S., your new employer initiates the process and you typically continue working during the processing window.
