Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Operations Director
Frame your credentials for U.S. specialty occupation
An Australian three-year bachelor's degree in business or operations management is accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree. Get your transcripts assessed by a NACES-approved evaluator before applying so employers aren't left guessing.
Target companies with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway disclosure data for employers who have filed LCAs for operations or management roles. Prior filings signal an internal HR process already exists, which cuts your time from offer to visa appointment.
Clarify your role's specialty occupation status early
Operations Director titles vary widely. Confirm with the hiring team that the role requires a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. A generalist management description can create problems at the consulate even after an offer is signed.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. The LCA must be DOL-certified before your consulate appointment, and timing that sequence correctly is where most delays happen.
Negotiate the offer before the LCA is filed
The LCA locks in the certified wage level and job description. Any changes to your title, duties, or salary after DOL certification may require a new filing. Finalize your offer letter terms completely before your employer submits the LCA.

Find Operations Director JobsOperations Director E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Operations Director jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Operations Director roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Because the E-3 is exclusive to Australians and requires no lottery, many companies that won't sponsor H-1B visas will engage with E-3 candidates. Filtering by visa type from the start saves you from pursuing roles with no realistic path to sponsorship.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Operations Director role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined. The E-3 requires the position to normally require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. An Operations Director role tied to a business, supply chain, or operations management degree typically qualifies. A broadly scoped role where any degree is acceptable may not. Your employer's job description needs to reflect the degree requirement explicitly.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Operations Director roles?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply any time of year after receiving a job offer. The H-1B cap is 85,000 slots annually with a competitive lottery, meaning many qualified candidates aren't selected. For Operations Director roles, the E-3 is processed at a U.S. consulate in Australia rather than through USCIS, which typically means faster turnaround and lower employer costs.
Can I transfer my E-3 sponsorship if I change employers?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp from a consulate or, in some cases, a change of status if you're already in the U.S. Your current E-3 is tied to the sponsoring employer, so you can't simply transfer it. Build enough lead time into your transition to avoid a gap in work authorization.
