E-3 Visa Patient Registrar Jobs
Patient Registrar roles in U.S. hospitals and health systems qualify as specialty occupations under the E-3 visa, making sponsorship straightforward for Australian professionals with a relevant bachelor's degree. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can pursue roles year-round without the H-1B timing constraints.

R1 is the leading provider of technology-driven solutions that transform the patient experience and financial performance of hospitals, health systems and medical groups. We are the one company that combines the deep expertise of a global workforce of revenue cycle professionals with the industry’s most advanced technology platform, encompassing sophisticated analytics, AI, intelligent automation, and workflow orchestration.
As our Customer Service Representative (Patient Registration), you’ll work to help our patients check into the hospital. It’s a fast-paced, high-volume department, and you’ll be the person patients rely on to answer questions during registration. You’ll build trust in these interactions by collecting information accurately and quickly, but also by listening with compassion - not just to hear information, but to address their fears, concerns, and questions.
To thrive in this job, you’ll need to be a confident multi-tasker who is a quick study with technology and can type accurately and answer phones. You don’t need to have any previous experience or knowledge in healthcare. Since this is a hospital/lab environment, you will need to be prepared to see illness and injuries, especially in the emergency room area. We’ll teach you everything you need to know, which makes this a perfect starting point to launch your healthcare career. You must also be up to date on all vaccinations, pass a drug test, and pass a background check before hire.
Here’s what you can expect working in Patient Registration (Customer Service):
-
Working on computers and answering phones to intake information in a busy, high-volume, stressful main admissions area of the Children's Hospital. You’ll work across multiple screens collecting details that must be input correctly between physician and nurse check-ins. You should feel comfortable working across multiple programs and typing as quickly as patients can talk. You will work around clinicians interrupting the registration process for emergent clinical care.
-
Helping people who may be very ill or worried. Patients need you to be there for them and listen carefully to ease their anxiety. You’ll ask follow-up questions and build rapport in real time.
-
Fast-paced work environment, on your feet assisting patients in completing their registration. While collecting patient and insurance information may seem straightforward, there is a lot of variation in health plans and coverage that will require knowledge through training. You must work quickly and expect the unexpected. This is not a casual desk job.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Patient Registrar
Verify your degree meets specialty occupation standards
A Patient Registrar role must require a bachelor's degree in a specific field to qualify as a specialty occupation. Health information management, healthcare administration, or a related field strengthens your case. A general business degree alone may not be enough.
Target health systems with existing LCA filing history
Large hospital networks and academic medical centers file Labor Condition Applications regularly and have HR teams familiar with the E-3 process. Smaller clinics may have never sponsored a visa, which creates delays while they get up to speed.
Frame your Australian credentials for U.S. hiring managers
Translate your Australian qualifications into U.S. equivalents upfront. A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 purposes, but you may need a credential evaluation letter to reassure unfamiliar employers.
Clarify E-3 sponsorship requirements before accepting an offer
Before signing, confirm your employer will file the Labor Condition Application with DOL and support your consulate appointment. Some employers misunderstand the E-3 as an employee-funded process. The LCA must be certified before your visa interview.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork
Once you have a job offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the LCA submission, visa application documents, and consulate preparation end-to-end, so neither you nor your employer needs prior E-3 experience to get the filing right.
Search for roles at E-Verify enrolled employers
Employers enrolled in E-Verify are already familiar with work authorization documentation and are more likely to have internal processes for onboarding international hires. You can confirm enrollment through the E-Verify employer search tool on the official E-Verify website.

Find Patient Registrar JobsPatient Registrar E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Patient Registrar jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Patient Registrar roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards rarely filter by visa type, so you end up cold-applying and hoping. Migrate Mate surfaces roles matched to E-3 eligibility so you can focus on employers already prepared to sponsor Australian candidates.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Patient Registrar role actually qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
It can, but the role must require a bachelor's degree in a specific field as a normal condition of employment. Patient Registrar positions at large health systems increasingly require degrees in health information management or healthcare administration. Roles at smaller practices that accept any degree, or no degree, may not meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Patient Registrar roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply at any time of year and expect a predictable timeline. The H-1B has an annual lottery with a selection rate well below 50% for most applicants. For Australians, the E-3 is a far more reliable path into a Patient Registrar role at a U.S. health system.
Can I change employers after starting work on an E-3 in a Patient Registrar role?
Yes, but you need a new LCA certified by DOL and a new E-3 visa tied to your new employer before you start working for them. You cannot simply transfer the existing visa. If you're already in the U.S., some applicants handle the new consulate appointment during a trip outside the country rather than applying for a change of status through USCIS.
