Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Product Engineering Manager
Align your credentials to U.S. specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires your degree field to match the role. An engineering management position typically needs a bachelor's in engineering, computer science, or a directly related discipline. A three-year Australian degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway for employers who have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for engineering manager roles. Prior LCA filings confirm the employer understands the E-3 process and won't treat your sponsorship as a first-time obstacle.
Frame sponsorship early in hiring conversations
Raise E-3 sponsorship before the offer stage, not after. Engineering manager candidates who wait until an offer letter arrive often face delays when legal review starts from scratch. Clarifying upfront that the E-3 requires no lottery and no employer PERM filing typically speeds approval internally.
Verify the job description meets specialty occupation criteria
Your offer letter and job description must establish that the role normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Generic language like 'degree preferred' can jeopardize the LCA. Request that the hiring team use precise language tied to engineering or technical management qualifications.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA and consulate prep
The LCA must be certified by the DOL before your consulate appointment can be scheduled. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the full process from LCA submission through visa paperwork and consulate preparation, so nothing stalls between your offer acceptance and your interview date.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions at the consulate
Consular officers assess whether you intend to return to Australia after your E-3 period. Engineering managers sometimes face additional scrutiny because senior roles raise questions about long-term intent. Come prepared with specific answers about your ties to Australia and your understanding of E-3's nonimmigrant status.

Find Product Engineering Manager JobsProduct Engineering Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Product Engineering Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Product Engineering Manager roles with confirmed E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type or LCA history, so you waste time applying to employers who have never sponsored an E-3. Migrate Mate surfaces roles from employers with documented sponsorship activity, saving you the back-and-forth of confirming eligibility mid-process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Product Engineering Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the job description establishes that the role normally requires a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field such as engineering, computer science, or a related discipline. Vague requirements like 'relevant experience acceptable' can weaken the specialty occupation argument. Your employer's LCA filing must clearly reflect the degree requirement, and your own credentials must match.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Product Engineering Manager roles?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, meaning you can apply any time of year with a valid job offer. H-1B registrations are capped at 85,000 per fiscal year and subject to a random lottery, so qualified candidates are regularly excluded despite strong applications. For Australian nationals in engineering management, the E-3 is the more reliable and faster path to U.S. employment.
Can I change employers after starting work on an E-3 as a Product Engineering Manager?
Yes, but you need a new LCA and a new visa application tied to the incoming employer before you start work. Unlike H-1B portability rules, E-3 status does not automatically transfer. Engineering managers moving between companies should start the new employer's LCA process well before their intended start date to avoid any gap in authorized work status.
