Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a QA Engineer
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field satisfies the E-3 degree requirement. Attach your official academic transcript to every application so hiring managers can confirm degree equivalency without guessing.
Target companies with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to find employers who have previously filed LCAs for QA Engineer roles. Past filings signal that the hiring team already understands the E-3 process and won't abandon your offer over paperwork uncertainty.
Search Migrate Mate for E-3 sponsorship roles
Use Migrate Mate to find QA Engineer positions where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Filtering by visa type saves you from applying to roles where the hiring team has never considered sponsoring an Australian candidate.
Clarify the LCA requirement before your offer deadline
Your employer must file and receive a certified LCA from the DOL before you can attend your consulate appointment. Raise this timeline early in negotiations so HR doesn't treat the LCA as a post-offer surprise that delays your start date.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end support
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles your LCA submission, visa paperwork, and consulate preparation from offer acceptance through your appointment in Australia. This removes the coordination burden from your employer and reduces the risk of filing errors that cause delays.
Address specialty occupation upfront for hybrid QA roles
QA Engineer positions that blend manual testing with general coordination can draw scrutiny over whether they meet the specialty occupation standard. Before your interview, confirm with your employer that the job description explicitly requires a degree in a specific technical field.

Find QA Engineer JobsQA Engineer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find QA Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for QA Engineer roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. General job boards don't filter by visa type, so you often can't tell whether a company will support the process until late in the interview cycle. Searching specifically for E-3 sponsorship from the start saves time and avoids late-stage rejections.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a QA Engineer role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as computer science, software engineering, or electrical engineering. Roles that accept any degree or treat the degree as a preference rather than a requirement are harder to support. A well-written job description that specifies degree requirements in a technical discipline strengthens the application significantly.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for QA Engineers?
The E-3 visa has no annual cap and no lottery, so your employer can file at any point during the year and expect a result without waiting for a random selection. The H-1B is capped at 85,000 petitions annually and requires surviving a lottery before filing. For Australian QA Engineers, the E-3 is a faster and more predictable path to U.S. employment in most cases.
Can I change employers while working in the U.S. on an E-3?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if yours expires or if you travel internationally. Unlike the H-1B, there's no portability provision that lets you start work immediately on a pending petition. Plan for a processing gap and discuss timing with your new employer before giving notice.
