BDT owns, develops, and operates Andes, one of the largest data lakes in the world, storing 3+ exabytes of data, read/written to by 100k+ data pipelines, with >60k monthly active users. Key job responsibilities
You focus on the needs of business users as they navigate data from question to insight. You formulate goals and plans for transforming the ways Amazon extracts value from its data through iterative improvements involving AI enablement, process optimization, role guidelines, and org design.
As part of a broader team, you collaborate with other technical program managers to ensure that work in your space aligns with work and plans of other teams across BDT and other organizations. You establish mechanisms for inspection and awareness of progress across cross cutting initiatives.
Data drives your “flywheel”. You analyze data to glean insights that drive experimentation. You leverage data such as service telemetry, user feedback, and industry trends to surface opportunities for improvement. You take what’s proven and partner with Amazon organizations to apply and scale it. You define, implement, and monitor metrics that track your progress.
You partner with Amazon’s business orgs to test hypotheses and deploy AI-based solutions to reduce friction and risk of errors in the ways that businesses use data.
You give feedback on narratives, contribute to strategy (e.g., OP1 planning), set goals, discuss weekly business metrics, and more.
You partner with Amazon’s PXT organization to evolve and optimize roles guidelines and org design best practices to align with the way businesses are evolving their practices around getting insights from their data.
You partner with engineering, human resources, legal, documentation, solution architecture, privacy, finance, and more to optimize usage of the Andes data lake for AI-based methodologies.
As an owner, you hold yourself and partners accountable for the highest quality user outcomes.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Security Engineering Manager
Frame your credentials for U.S. specialty occupation standards
Your Australian bachelor's degree is accepted as equivalent to a four-year U.S. degree, but your transcript and role history must explicitly connect your security engineering qualifications to the management position. Prepare a credential evaluation before applying.
Target employers with active security compliance obligations
Companies in fintech, defense contracting, healthcare technology, and cloud infrastructure face mandatory security frameworks that create recurring demand for Security Engineering Managers. These employers understand visa sponsorship because they hire internationally to fill persistent skill gaps.
Verify the job offer specifies a bachelor's degree requirement
The E-3 visa requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation. If the offer letter or job description says 'degree preferred' rather than 'required,' DOL may reject the LCA. Get written confirmation from HR that a degree in a specific field is mandatory.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage your LCA and visa paperwork
The Labor Condition Application must be certified by DOL before your consulate appointment, and errors in wage level classification are a common rejection trigger for management roles. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the LCA, DS-160, and consulate preparation end-to-end.
Understand how E-3 status works across multiple employer sites
Security Engineering Manager roles often involve overseeing distributed teams or client sites. Each worksite listed in your LCA must reflect the prevailing wage for that location. If your role spans multiple states, confirm your employer's LCA covers all work locations before filing.
E-3 Visa Security Engineering Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Security Engineering Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for E-3 visa sponsorship roles in the U.S. Rather than filtering through general job boards that don't surface visa status, Migrate Mate focuses on employers open to E-3 sponsorship, making it the most direct way to find Security Engineering Manager positions that match your situation.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Security Engineering Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, Security Engineering Manager roles consistently qualify as specialty occupations because they require theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge in information security, systems architecture, or related fields. The position must require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific discipline. Roles where any degree field is acceptable, or where experience routinely substitutes for a degree, can face LCA scrutiny, so your offer letter wording matters.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Security Engineering Manager roles?
The E-3 has no lottery, so you don't face a 25% selection rate the way H-1B registrants do. You can apply directly at an Australian consulate once your employer files a certified LCA, often within weeks of your offer. H-1B requires a petition, a lottery slot, and an October 1 start date. For Security Engineering Managers with Australian citizenship, the E-3 is a direct path the H-1B cannot offer.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Security Engineering Manager?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA before you begin work. The E-3 is employer-specific, so your current visa stamp is tied to the employer that sponsored it. You can switch employers and remain in lawful status during the transition, but you cannot start work until DOL certifies the new LCA and, in most cases, you obtain a new E-3 visa stamp at an Australian consulate.
