Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Quality Assurance Engineer
Translate your credentials before applying
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees in engineering, computer science, or a related field are accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 purposes. Prepare a credential evaluation from a NACES-member evaluator before interviews so employers don't stall on credential questions.
Target QA roles with a degree requirement
E-3 sponsorship requires a specialty occupation, meaning the role must normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. QA Engineer listings that say 'bachelor's preferred' rather than 'required' can fail the specialty occupation test, so filter for postings that explicitly require a relevant degree.
Search verified E-3 sponsors on Migrate Mate
Most QA hiring managers don't know the E-3 exists before you mention it. Use Migrate Mate to find employers with active E-3 or LCA filing history in engineering and quality roles, so your outreach starts with companies already familiar with the sponsorship process.
Flag your E-3 eligibility early in interviews
Don't wait until offer stage to raise visa sponsorship. Tell hiring managers upfront that you're an Australian citizen eligible for the E-3, which requires no lottery and no cap. Employers who've rejected H-1B candidates for cost or uncertainty often proceed confidently once they understand the E-3 distinction.
Confirm the LCA wage tier matches your offer
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying the role meets prevailing wage requirements before your visa application. QA Engineer prevailing wages vary by location and experience level, so verify your offered salary meets the DOL wage level for your specific metro area and job zone.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the full process
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end, from DOL certification through consulate appointment prep. Errors in LCA job descriptions or mismatched degree fields are common delay causes that a dedicated filing service catches before submission.

Find Quality Assurance Engineer JobsQuality Assurance Engineer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Quality Assurance Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search for QA Engineer roles at employers with verified E-3 or LCA filing history. Most QA job postings don't advertise visa sponsorship explicitly, so filtering by employer filing history narrows the list to companies that have already navigated the process. Targeting these employers significantly reduces the back-and-forth during offer negotiation.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Quality Assurance Engineer role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, in most cases. The E-3 requires the position to normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as engineering, computer science, or a closely related discipline. QA Engineer roles in software, hardware, and regulated industries like medical devices or aerospace typically meet this standard. Roles where any degree is acceptable regardless of field are harder to qualify and can face additional scrutiny at the consulate.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Quality Assurance Engineers?
The E-3 has a 10,500-slot annual allocation that has never been fully used, so there's no lottery and no cap wait. H-1B registrations for the same cap have exceeded 400,000 in recent years, with selection rates well below 30%. For an Australian QA Engineer, that means a direct path from job offer to visa rather than a lottery outcome that may take multiple years to resolve.
Can I switch QA employers after entering the U.S. on an E-3?
Yes, but you can't transfer the visa the way some other work visas allow. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need to obtain a new E-3 visa stamp, typically at a U.S. consulate in Australia. You can start working for the new employer once the LCA is certified and a new visa is approved, so timing the transition carefully around your current E-3 expiry matters.
