Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in Real Estate Finance
Align your credentials to U.S. standards
Your Australian three-year bachelor's degree in finance or economics is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 visa purposes. Gather your academic transcripts and a credential evaluation before you start applying.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for finance roles. Firms with prior LCA filings already understand the process and won't need convincing at the offer stage.
Find E-3 sponsorship roles through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Real Estate Finance openings by E-3 visa sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from offer to consulate appointment, so you can focus on landing the role.
Clarify the specialty occupation link at interviews
Real Estate Finance roles sometimes list a degree as 'preferred' rather than 'required,' which can disqualify the position for E-3 purposes. Ask the hiring manager to confirm the role requires a degree in a specific field before you progress to the offer stage.
Negotiate LCA timing into your offer timeline
Your employer must file and receive a certified LCA from DOL before you can apply at the consulate. Standard DOL certification takes around seven business days, so build that window into your start date negotiation to avoid a last-minute rush.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions at your consulate appointment
Consular officers assess whether you intend to return to Australia after your E-3 period. Bring documentation of financial ties, Australian property, or family commitments to demonstrate you're not seeking permanent relocation through this visa.
E-3 Visa Real Estate Finance: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Real Estate Finance jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search Real Estate Finance roles filtered by E-3 sponsorship availability. Most generic job boards don't distinguish between H-1B visa and E-3 sponsorship, which wastes time. Searching specifically for employers with prior LCA filing history in real estate and finance saves you from approaching firms that won't sponsor an Australian national.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Real Estate Finance role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field. Roles like financial analyst, acquisitions analyst, debt capital markets associate, and asset manager typically qualify. A general business or operations role that accepts any degree won't meet the specialty occupation standard, so the job description wording matters.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Real Estate Finance professionals?
The E-3 has no lottery, no annual cap backlog for Australians, and can be renewed indefinitely in two-year increments as long as you hold a qualifying role. The H-1B requires surviving a random lottery with a roughly one-in-four selection rate. For Australian Real Estate Finance professionals, the E-3 is a far more reliable and faster path to U.S. employment.
Can I change employers or switch firms on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp reflecting that employer before you re-enter the U.S. If you're already in the country, you can start working for the new employer once the LCA is certified, but you'll need the updated visa stamp the next time you travel internationally. Plan the timing carefully around any international travel.
