Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Finance Manager
Get your credentials formally evaluated
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted for E-3 visa purposes, but some U.S. employers still flag them during onboarding. A credential evaluation from a NACES-approved body removes that friction before you reach the offer stage.
Search DOL LCA data to find active sponsors
The DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway publishes certified LCA filings by job title and employer. Filter for financial manager roles to identify which companies have sponsored E-3 or H-1B visa positions recently, that history signals they understand the process.
Target finance teams at multinational firms
U.S. subsidiaries of Australian companies, and multinationals with Australian operations, already work with E-3 holders. Their HR and legal teams know the visa, which shortens the sponsorship conversation significantly compared to employers encountering it for the first time.
Clarify the LCA before accepting an offer
The Labor Condition Application must be filed with DOL and certified before your visa application can proceed. Confirm your prospective employer knows this step is their responsibility, not yours, and that it typically certifies within seven working days.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage paperwork
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the LCA, DS-160, and consulate preparation end-to-end. Finance Manager roles involve detailed job duty documentation, having an expert manage that reduces errors that could delay your appointment.
Prepare a specialty occupation letter with your job duties
Consular officers assess whether a Finance Manager role genuinely requires a degree in a specific field. A detailed offer letter that maps your duties, budget oversight, financial reporting, strategic planning, to your finance degree strengthens your case at the interview.
E-3 Visa Finance Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Finance Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Finance Manager roles at U.S. employers with verified E-3 sponsorship history. Searching there filters out positions where sponsorship is unlikely, so you're not wasting time on applications that will stall once you raise your visa status. The E-3 requires a specific employer offer, so targeting the right companies from the start matters.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Finance Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Finance Manager positions require at minimum a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related field, which meets the USCIS specialty occupation definition. The key is that your offer letter and job duties clearly reflect degree-level financial analysis, planning, or oversight, not general business management tasks that any degree could support.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Finance Manager roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has no annual lottery and no cap, so you can apply any time of year. H-1B petitions are subject to an annual lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate. For an Australian finance professional with a qualifying job offer, the E-3 is a far more predictable path to U.S. employment than the H-1B.
Can I switch Finance Manager employers after arriving on an E-3?
Yes, but your E-3 status is tied to a specific employer and role. If you change jobs, your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp before reentering the U.S., or a change of status if you're already inside the country. Plan for a few weeks of processing time when making a move.
