Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Finance
Match your degree to the role
U.S. consular officers assess whether your specific degree field supports the job title. A finance or accounting degree strengthens an analyst application; a general business degree may need supporting documentation showing a direct connection to the specialty occupation.
Target firms with LCA filing history
Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data to identify finance employers that have filed Labor Condition Applications for roles like financial analyst, portfolio manager, or compliance officer. Prior LCA filings signal that the firm already understands E-3 sponsorship obligations.
Clarify sponsorship before the offer stage
Many finance employers conflate E-3 and H-1B requirements. Raise sponsorship early in the interview process and clarify that the E-3 requires no lottery and imposes minimal cost on the employer, which removes the most common objection before it becomes a barrier.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for compliance
Once you have an offer, the LCA and visa paperwork must be sequenced correctly. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle the full process from LCA certification through consulate preparation, so filing errors don't delay your start date.
Prepare for specialty occupation scrutiny
Finance roles at smaller firms or in generalist positions can attract consular questions about whether the job genuinely requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Bring a detailed job duties letter from your employer and your official academic transcripts to the interview.
Time your application around reporting cycles
Finance hiring often accelerates in Q4 and early Q1 as annual budgets are finalized. Targeting applications during these windows means hiring managers have headcount approved and can move quickly through the LCA certification and offer process.

Find Finance JobsFinance E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Finance jobs in the U.S. that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces finance roles at U.S. employers with E-3 sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying to companies that have never sponsored an Australian before. Filter by role type and location to find positions where the employer already understands the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Do Finance roles qualify as specialty occupations for the E-3 visa?
Most professional finance roles qualify, including financial analyst, investment analyst, portfolio manager, risk analyst, and compliance officer, because they typically require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Generalist roles where any degree is acceptable can be harder to support. The job duties letter your employer provides is what a consular officer scrutinizes, so the position description needs to reflect that a specific degree field is required.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Finance roles?
The E-3 has no lottery, no annual cap, and a significantly lighter employer filing burden than the H-1B. For finance employers, that means no lottery gamble in April, no six-month wait for an October start date, and lower compliance overhead. You can apply and start work within weeks of a certified LCA, which is why many Australian finance professionals secure U.S. roles that H-1B candidates can't count on.
Can I change Finance employers once I'm in the U.S. on an E-3?
Yes, but each new employer must file a new LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if you travel internationally after changing jobs. You can begin working for the new employer once the LCA is certified and you have a new I-94 admission in E-3 status, but you can't use your previous employer's LCA. Some finance professionals time job changes around planned international travel to handle the consulate visit efficiently.
