Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Safety Technician
Align your credentials to U.S. specialty occupation standards
An Australian diploma or associate-level certificate won't satisfy the E-3 degree requirement. Confirm your qualification maps to a U.S. bachelor's degree in occupational health, environmental science, or a related field before approaching employers about sponsorship.
Target industries with mandatory compliance programs
Construction, oil and gas, mining, and chemical manufacturing are federally required to maintain safety personnel under OSHA regulations. Employers in these sectors understand sponsorship obligations and are far more likely to have LCA experience than general staffing firms.
Ask about the LCA before signing any offer letter
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your visa can be processed. If a hiring manager is unfamiliar with the LCA, that signals a longer onboarding process and a risk of delays between offer acceptance and your start date.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to streamline your paperwork
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA submission, visa application documents, and consulate preparation. This avoids the coordination gaps that slow down safety-sector hires with tight project start dates.
Obtain U.S.-recognized safety certifications before interviewing
OSHA 30-hour certification and HAZWOPER 40-hour training are standard expectations for U.S. safety technician roles. Completing these in Australia before your job search removes a common employer objection and demonstrates readiness to work on U.S. job sites from day one.
Clarify worksite assignment details in your offer letter
E-3 holders working across multiple client sites or project locations can trigger LCA compliance issues around worksite addresses and prevailing wage applicability. Get specific about your primary work location in writing before your employer files the LCA with DOL.

Find Safety Technician JobsSafety Technician E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Safety Technician jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Rather than filtering through general job boards where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces Safety Technician openings at employers with active sponsorship history, so you're not wasting applications on companies that won't support an E-3.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Safety Technician role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3 visa?
It depends on how the role is defined. A Safety Technician position that requires a bachelor's degree in occupational health, safety engineering, environmental science, or a closely related field qualifies as a specialty occupation. Roles that list a degree as preferred rather than required, or that accept any field of study, can fail the specialty occupation test and put your visa at risk.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Safety Technician roles?
The E-3 is available year-round with no lottery, which means an employer can sponsor you for a Safety Technician role at any time and expect the visa to be approved without competing for a limited slot. H-1B petitions are capped at 85,000 annually and subject to a randomized lottery, creating uncertainty that many safety-sector employers want to avoid when filling project-critical positions.
Can my E-3 status be affected if I change project sites or move between client locations?
Yes. The DOL's LCA requirements tie your prevailing wage certification to specific worksite locations. If your employer assigns you to a new project site not covered by your existing LCA, they may need to file an amended or new LCA before you begin work there. Confirm your employer's process for multi-site assignments before accepting any role that involves regular travel or contractor deployments.
