Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in Sales Director
Frame your degree for specialty occupation
Your Australian bachelor's degree must tie directly to the Sales Director role. A business, marketing, or management degree works. If your degree is in an unrelated field, document how your coursework maps to sales leadership functions before applying.
Target companies with active LCA history
Search the DOL's Labor Condition Application disclosure data to identify employers who've filed for senior sales and commercial roles. Companies with existing LCA filings for comparable positions already understand the E-3 visa process, which shortens your sponsorship conversation.
Negotiate sponsorship before accepting an offer
Raise E-3 sponsorship requirements during the offer stage, not after you've signed. The LCA must be filed and certified before your visa interview, so your employer needs time to prepare. Delay costs you your consulate slot.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA
The LCA is the step most employers get wrong on a first E-3 filing. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so your employer doesn't stall the process learning DOL requirements from scratch.
Address dual intent directly at your interview
The E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, so consular officers will probe your intent to return to Australia. For Sales Director candidates with U.S.-based reporting lines, prepare a clear statement about your temporary purpose and ongoing Australian ties.
Confirm your job description meets specialty occupation
A Sales Director title alone doesn't guarantee approval. Your offer letter must describe duties that require a bachelor's degree in a specific field, not general business experience. Vague job descriptions are a common reason USCIS scrutinises E-3 petitions at the port of entry.
E-3 Visa Sales Director: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Sales Director jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can filter Sales Director positions by employers who have E-3 filing history, which removes the guesswork of cold-approaching companies that have never sponsored an Australian before.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Sales Director role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It can, but the job description carries the weight. The role must require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, marketing, or a related discipline. Generic commercial leadership positions that accept any degree or substitute experience for education are harder to qualify. Your offer letter and employer's job posting need to reflect a degree-specific requirement.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for a Sales Director position?
The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been filled, so there's no lottery and no cap risk. H-1B visa requires registration in a lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate. For a Sales Director hired mid-year or needing a predictable start date, the E-3 is far more reliable. Both require a specialty occupation showing, but the E-3 is available only to Australian citizens.
What happens to my E-3 status if I change employers or get promoted?
A new E-3 petition and a new LCA are required any time you change employers. Internal promotions to a materially different role, such as moving from regional sales director to global chief revenue officer, may also require a new filing if the duties and degree requirements change significantly. You can't simply transfer your existing E-3 to a new company.
