Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Brand Designer
Frame your portfolio for U.S. specialty occupation
Your portfolio needs to demonstrate that senior brand design requires a specific degree, not just creativity. Curate case studies that show strategy, systems thinking, and brand architecture, the kind of work that signals a specialty occupation to a consular officer.
Target employers with active DOL filing history
Search DOL's Labor Condition Application disclosure data to identify U.S. employers who have filed LCAs for design roles. These companies have already run the process before, so your sponsorship conversation starts from a position of familiarity, not education.
Prepare your Australian degree equivalency early
A three-year Australian bachelor's in design is generally accepted as equivalent to a four-year U.S. degree for E-3 purposes, but have your transcripts ready and your degree institution details documented before you reach the offer stage, not after.
Clarify the LCA wage level before accepting an offer
Your employer must file an LCA certifying your salary meets DOL prevailing wage standards for your role and location. Confirm the wage level they intend to file at before you sign anything, since a Level I wage on a Senior Designer title can trigger scrutiny.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your application
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. The service manages everything from DOL certification through consulate preparation, so you're not navigating government portals while also onboarding into a new role.
Build your cover letter around specialty occupation proof
The E-3 consular interview often includes questions about why the role requires a degree. Write a cover letter that connects your design responsibilities directly to your academic background, making the specialty occupation argument explicit rather than leaving it for the officer to infer.

Find Senior Brand Designer JobsSenior Brand Designer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Senior Brand Designer jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
The most direct way is to search Migrate Mate, which filters U.S. design jobs by employers with E-3 sponsorship history. Most general job boards don't surface visa sponsorship filters at all, and sorting it out manually across listings is time-consuming. Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals on the E-3 path.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Brand Designer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the employer's job description requires a bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a closely related field. Roles that list a degree as preferred rather than required can create problems at the consulate. Make sure the position description your employer puts on the LCA specifies a degree requirement, not just a preference.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Senior Brand Designer roles?
The E-3 is a significantly more predictable path for Australian designers. There's no lottery, no annual cap, and you can apply directly at a U.S. consulate in Australia within weeks of receiving an offer. The H-1B requires winning a random lottery in April for an October start, making it an unreliable option for roles you're trying to start within a normal hiring timeline.
Can I switch employers after I start working on an E-3 as a brand designer?
Yes, but the E-3 is employer-specific, meaning your current visa is tied to your existing employer's LCA. If you change jobs, your new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need to attend a new consular interview in Australia to get a new E-3 stamp. You can continue working during the transition only if you time the switch carefully.
