Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Control Engineer
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
Australian three-year engineering degrees are accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 purposes, but your employer's HR team may not know this. Bring a credential evaluation letter from a NACES-approved evaluator to your offer discussions.
Target manufacturers and utilities with active LCA history
Search DOL's public Labor Condition Application disclosure data to identify employers who have previously certified LCAs for control engineering roles. Companies with existing E-3 or H-1B LCA filings already understand the prevailing wage and specialty occupation requirements.
Clarify your PLC and DCS specialization in your application
Employers evaluating E-3 specialty occupation must show a direct link between your degree field and the specific role. Listing your platform expertise, such as Siemens, Rockwell, or Honeywell DCS, helps the LCA narrative match your actual job duties.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage your LCA and paperwork
Once you have a written offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA certification with DOL, prepare your DS-160, and get you ready for your consulate appointment in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth.
Negotiate your offer before the LCA is filed
The LCA locks in your job title, work location, and wage level with DOL before your visa interview. If your role changes scope or worksite after certification, your employer may need to file an amended LCA, which delays your start date.
Confirm your employer's E-Verify enrollment before accepting
E-3 holders are legally authorized to work immediately upon admission, but employers in certain states or federal contracts are required to use E-Verify. Confirming enrollment early prevents payroll delays on your first day.

Find Senior Control Engineer JobsSenior Control Engineer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Senior Control Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can filter by job title and see which employers are open to E-3 candidates, rather than sorting through general job listings where sponsorship willingness is unclear. Most Senior Control Engineer roles at industrial manufacturers, utilities, and engineering consultancies qualify as E-3 specialty occupations.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Control Engineer role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes. Senior Control Engineer positions require at least a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, control systems engineering, or a closely related field, which satisfies the DOL's specialty occupation definition. Roles involving PLC programming, DCS configuration, SCADA architecture, or industrial process control consistently meet this standard. Your employer's LCA filing documents this connection between your degree and the specific job duties.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Senior Control Engineers?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has no annual lottery, so you can apply at any time of year once you have a job offer. The H-1B is subject to an annual cap and random selection, meaning most applicants wait over a year even with an offer in hand. For a Senior Control Engineer with an Australian passport, the E-3 is a significantly faster and more predictable path to U.S. employment.
Can I change employers or worksites on an E-3 as a Senior Control Engineer?
You can change employers, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL before you begin work. The LCA is tied to a specific employer, job title, and primary worksite. For control engineers who work across multiple plant locations, your employer should list all anticipated work locations on the LCA or file amendments when long-term worksite changes occur.
