Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in Senior Product Design
Translate your portfolio for U.S. hiring managers
Frame case studies around business outcomes and systems thinking, not just aesthetics. U.S. hiring managers screening for E-3 visa sponsorship want evidence your work drove measurable product decisions, not a visual showcase alone.
Verify specialty occupation status before applying
Confirm the job description explicitly requires a bachelor's degree in design, HCI, or a related field. If the posting says 'degree preferred,' the role may not meet DOL's specialty occupation threshold and your E-3 petition could be challenged.
Target employers with existing E-3 or LCA filing history
Use Migrate Mate to filter Senior Product Design roles by employers who have previously filed Labor Condition Applications. These companies already understand E-3 sponsorship requirements and are less likely to withdraw offers over process uncertainty.
Prepare your credential equivalency documentation early
If you hold a three-year Australian design degree, get a credential evaluation confirming U.S. bachelor's equivalency before your employer files the LCA. USCIS accepts three-year degrees but consular officers occasionally request supporting documentation at interview.
Address sponsorship directly during the offer negotiation stage
Raise E-3 requirements before countersigning your offer letter. Confirm the employer will file the LCA with DOL and cover government fees. Surprises at this stage are the most common reason offers fall through for Australian designers.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA and consulate prep
Once you have a signed offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the LCA submission to DOL, DS-160 preparation, and consulate documentation so your employer doesn't need to engage a separate immigration attorney.
E-3 Visa Senior Product Design: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Senior Product Design jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It filters Senior Product Design roles by employers with E-3 and LCA filing history, so you're only seeing companies that have already navigated Australian visa sponsorship. Generic job boards don't surface this data, which means you'd otherwise be applying blind to employers who may reject sponsorship requests outright.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does E-3 or H-1B work better for Senior Product Design roles?
As an Australian, the E-3 is almost always the better path for Senior Product Design. There's no lottery, no annual cap, and your employer can file year-round. The H-1B visa requires lottery selection in April with an October 1 start date and registration fees. For design roles specifically, where companies hire on project timelines rather than fiscal-year cycles, E-3's flexibility is a practical advantage.
What does my employer actually have to do to sponsor my E-3 visa?
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL, which certifies they're paying the prevailing wage for Senior Product Design in that location. Once the LCA is certified, typically within seven business days, you use it to apply at a U.S. consulate in Australia. The employer doesn't file anything with USCIS for consular E-3 processing, which keeps the process faster and simpler than most other work visas.
Can I switch employers after starting on an E-3 in a Senior Product Design role?
Yes, but your E-3 status is tied to your specific employer and role. Your new employer needs to file a fresh LCA before you start, and you'll generally need to attend a new consular interview to get a visa stamp reflecting the new employer. If you're changing jobs while already in the U.S., work with your new employer to time the LCA certification before your last day to avoid a gap in authorized employment.
