As an Advanced Engineering Systems Support Specialist at Honeywell, you will play a key role supporting global aftermarket MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) operations while building advanced expertise in engineering data management, regulatory compliance, and SAP-enabled repair processes. This position is ideal for candidates looking to deepen their technical capabilities and broaden their exposure across engineering, supply chain, and global operations.
In this role, you will take ownership of critical configuration management activities, including the creation and maintenance of Master Parts Lists (MPL), Document Information Records (DIR), and complex BOM structures. You will strengthen your knowledge of export control (including ITAR) and global aviation regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, CAAC), while ensuring technical data integrity and compliance across systems.
Working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, you will collaborate closely with engineering, supply chain, quality, and customer-facing teams—building critical business acumen, communication skills, and strategic thinking capabilities. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance processes, data accuracy, and operational efficiency.
This role reports to the Engineering Manager and is based in Phoenix, Tempe, or Deer Valley Aero sites with a hybrid schedule (100% onsite for the first 90 days).
By taking on this role, you will position yourself for future growth opportunities across engineering, ISC, program management, or leadership, while gaining the technical depth, global perspective, and cross-functional experience that are highly valued within Honeywell.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage engineering support requests through ticketing systems, including Salesforce case creation, tracking, prioritization, and closure, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.

- Provide hands-on technical and system support to global MRO repair shops, including troubleshooting data and process issues and guiding users on SAP functionality.
- Review and validate engineering and technical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with export control regulations (including ITAR) when handling and releasing technical data and documentation.
- Maintain and analyze serialized data and part records to support traceability, lifecycle management, and data integrity across systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to resolve technical issues, support customer inquiries, and drive continuous improvement in processes and data quality.
- May travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Align your degree to the role description
E-3 visa specialty occupation requires your degree field to match the job. A software support role citing 'bachelor's preferred' rather than 'required' can fail the LCA. Get the offer letter to specify the degree requirement explicitly before any filing begins.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to find U.S. employers who have filed LCAs for software or IT support roles. Prior filing history signals that their HR and legal teams already understand the E-3 process.
Request employer sponsorship early in interviews
Raise E-3 sponsorship in the second or third interview round, after demonstrating your technical fit. Framing it as a straightforward two-year renewable visa with no lottery removes the hesitation most hiring managers associate with work visa sponsorship.
Prepare credential documentation before your offer stage
Gather your Australian degree transcripts, a credential evaluation if your qualification is a three-year bachelor's, and any technical certifications relevant to the support role. Having these ready shortens the gap between verbal offer and LCA submission.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end handling
Once you have a signed offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the LCA submission to DOL, prepares your DS-160, and handles consulate appointment preparation so neither you nor your employer needs to coordinate the paperwork independently.
Confirm your employer's USCIS compliance status before accepting
Ask whether the employer is enrolled in E-Verify and has filed employment-based visas before. STEM OPT employers are already E-Verify enrolled, making them familiar with DOL compliance, which streamlines the LCA certification process for your E-3.
E-3 Visa Software Support Specialist: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Software Support Specialist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals seeking U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Rather than filtering generic job boards manually, you can search roles where employers are already open to E-3 candidates. Software support positions in IT services, SaaS companies, and enterprise tech frequently qualify, since the role typically requires a bachelor's in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Software Support Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the job description requires a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field such as computer science, information technology, or software engineering. If the posting says 'bachelor's preferred' rather than 'required,' that creates a risk at the LCA stage. You'll want the offer letter to clearly state the degree requirement before your employer files with DOL.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Software Support Specialist roles?
The E-3 has a 10,500-visa annual allocation that has never been exhausted, so there's no lottery and no registration fee. The H-1B visa is capped at 85,000 per year and requires a lottery selection in April with an October start date. For a Software Support Specialist with Australian citizenship, the E-3 lets you start any time your employer is ready, without waiting for a fiscal year cycle.
Can I change employers or get promoted while on an E-3 as a Software Support Specialist?
You can change employers, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if you travel internationally before the change is processed. A promotion that significantly changes your job duties may also require an amended LCA. Unlike the H-1B, E-3 doesn't have portability protections, so time the transition carefully to avoid a gap in status.
