Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Transportation Clerk
Frame your Australian logistics credentials precisely
U.S. employers often don't recognize Australian 3-year degrees as equivalent to a 4-year bachelor's. Request an academic credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before applying so your qualifications are clear from the first conversation.
Verify the role meets specialty occupation standards
Not every Transportation Clerk posting qualifies for E-3. The role must normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Check that the job description explicitly states a degree requirement, not just a preference, before pursuing sponsorship.
Target employers already filing LCAs for logistics roles
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for employers who have previously certified LCAs for transportation and supply chain positions. These employers already understand the E-3 process, which significantly reduces friction during your application.
Get your offer letter to specify degree requirements clearly
Your offer letter must align with the specialty occupation standard. Ask your employer to state explicitly that the Transportation Clerk position requires a bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field so the LCA and visa application don't face scrutiny.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and consulate prep
Transportation Clerk LCA filings require precise prevailing wage documentation and accurate SOC code selection. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so errors that delay certification don't push back your start date.
Time your consulate appointment around your employer's LCA certification
The LCA must be fully certified by DOL before you can submit your DS-160 and book your consulate appointment. Build at least two weeks between your expected LCA certification date and your consulate scheduling window to avoid rebooking delays.

Find Transportation Clerk JobsTransportation Clerk E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Transportation Clerk jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search Migrate Mate to find Transportation Clerk roles with employers who have active E-3 sponsorship history. Many logistics and freight companies post roles without flagging sponsorship availability, so filtering by employers with LCA filing history for transportation positions will surface far more genuine opportunities than a standard keyword search.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Transportation Clerk role actually qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is structured. A Transportation Clerk position qualifies if the employer requires a bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field as a genuine prerequisite, not just a preference. Roles that list degree requirements as optional or accept any bachelor's degree regardless of field are harder to support under the specialty occupation standard and may face scrutiny during LCA review or at the consulate.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Transportation Clerk roles?
The E-3 is significantly more practical for this role. Unlike the H-1B, the E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply as soon as you have a qualifying job offer and a certified LCA. H-1B selection is random and capped at 85,000 per fiscal year, meaning most applicants wait years before getting a slot. For Australian nationals in logistics roles, the E-3 is the direct path.
Can my employer refuse to sponsor an E-3 because the process is too complicated?
Some employers hesitate because they've only encountered H-1B sponsorship and assume all visa processes are equally complex. The E-3 employer obligation is limited to filing an LCA with DOL and signing supporting documentation. There's no petition lottery, no USCIS adjudication wait for the employer, and no immigrant intent restriction that creates long-term liability, which makes it a lighter administrative lift than most employers expect.
