Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in VP Of Product
Frame your CV for U.S. product leadership
Australian CVs often list responsibilities where U.S. hiring managers expect outcomes. Rewrite your experience to show product metrics, revenue impact, and team scale. VP-level roles require evidence of cross-functional ownership, not just feature delivery.
Confirm your degree satisfies specialty occupation
The E-3 visa requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation. A three-year Australian bachelor's degree in a relevant field is generally accepted by USCIS, but make sure your offer letter specifies that the VP of Product role requires that degree.
Target employers with LCA filing history
Not every company knows the E-3 exists. Focus your search on employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications before. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once you have an offer in hand.
Raise E-3 sponsorship before the offer stage
Waiting until you have a written offer to discuss visa status slows down the timeline. Mention E-3 eligibility during final-round conversations so the employer's HR or legal team can confirm sponsorship readiness before you negotiate terms.
Verify the LCA wage level matches your seniority
DOL requires the LCA to certify a wage at or above the prevailing rate for your location and job title. At the VP level, ensure the employer files at Wage Level IV, which reflects supervisory and senior professional positions, not an entry-level rate.
Prepare for consulate questions about product scope
Consular officers assess whether your role genuinely requires a degree. Bring documentation showing the technical or business complexity of your product remit, such as a brief from your employer describing the role's educational requirements and decision-making authority.
E-3 Visa VP Of Product: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find VP of Product jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
The most direct approach is searching on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by E-3 sponsorship eligibility so you're not wading through listings from employers unfamiliar with the visa. VP of Product positions at mid-size and enterprise technology companies are the most common source of E-3-eligible product leadership roles in the U.S.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a VP of Product role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the employer's job description ties the position to a specific degree requirement, typically computer science, engineering, business, or a related field. Generic leadership roles that accept any bachelor's degree regardless of field can create specialty occupation problems at the consulate. Your offer letter should explicitly state the degree requirement, not just list it as preferred.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for VP of Product roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery, no cap backlog, and can be renewed every two years indefinitely as long as you hold a qualifying job. The H-1B visa subjects you to a randomized selection process each April with no guarantee of selection. For Australian nationals in product leadership, the E-3 is a significantly more predictable path to long-term U.S. employment.
Can I change companies while on an E-3 as a VP of Product?
Yes, but you need a new LCA certified by DOL and a new visa stamp or a change of status filing before you start with the new employer. The E-3 is tied to your specific employer and role, so moving to a new company restarts the process. Most VP-level transitions allow enough lead time to complete the LCA, which DOL typically certifies within seven business days.
