INTRODUCTION
PsiQuantum’s mission is to build the first useful quantum computers—machines capable of delivering the breakthroughs the field has long promised. Since our founding in 2016, our singular focus has been to build and deploy million-qubit, fault-tolerant quantum systems. Quantum computers harness the laws of quantum mechanics to solve problems that even the most advanced supercomputers or AI systems will never reach. Their impact will span energy, pharmaceuticals, finance, agriculture, transportation, materials, and other foundational industries. Our architecture and approach is based on silicon photonics. By leveraging the advanced semiconductor manufacturing industry—including partners like GlobalFoundries—we use the same high-volume processes that already produce billions of chips for telecom and consumer electronics. Photonics offers natural advantages for scale: photons don’t feel heat, are immune to electromagnetic interference, and integrate with existing cryogenic cooling and standard fiber-optic infrastructure. In 2024, PsiQuantum announced government-funded projects to support the build-out of our first utility-scale quantum computers in Brisbane, Australia, and Chicago, Illinois. These initiatives reflect a growing recognition that quantum computing will be strategically and economically defining—and that now is the time to scale. PsiQuantum also develops the algorithms and software needed to make these systems commercially valuable. Our application, software, and industry teams work directly with leading Fortune 500 companies—including Lockheed Martin, Mercedes-Benz, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Mitsubishi Chemical—to prepare quantum solutions for real-world impact. Quantum computing is not an extension of classical computing. It represents a fundamental shift—and a path to mastering challenges that cannot be solved any other way. The potential is enormous, and we have a clear path to make it real. Come join us.

Frame your degree for specialty occupation
Your Australian bachelor's degree must map directly to test automation work. A degree in computer science or software engineering is clean. An unrelated degree means gathering documentation showing how your coursework supports the specialty occupation classification before applying.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's Labor Condition Application disclosure data for companies that have filed LCAs for software quality or test engineering roles. Prior LCA activity signals an employer already understands the E-3 process and won't need convincing during offer negotiations.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This covers DOL certification, consulate prep, and document review so you're not navigating government portals solo.
Position CI/CD and cloud certifications strategically
U.S. employers hiring senior automation engineers expect hands-on experience with tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright alongside CI/CD pipelines. Certifications in AWS or Azure can also strengthen the specialty occupation argument during USCIS adjudication if your degree field is borderline.
Start your consulate appointment search early
E-3 visa interviews are processed at Australian consulates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. Appointment availability varies by location and season. Book your slot as soon as your LCA is DOL-certified to avoid delays between your offer acceptance and your U.S. start date.

Find Senior Test Automation Engineer JobsSenior Test Automation Engineer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Senior Test Automation Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It filters roles by E-3 sponsorship eligibility and surfaces employers with a history of hiring Australian professionals. Generic job boards don't filter by visa type, so you end up screening dozens of postings manually before finding one where sponsorship is actually on the table.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Test Automation Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, in most cases. The role must require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as computer science, software engineering, or information systems. Positions requiring only general IT experience or where any degree is accepted can face scrutiny. Job descriptions that specify degree requirements tied to test engineering practices are the cleanest for E-3 classification.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Senior Test Automation Engineers?
The E-3 is significantly more predictable for this role. There's no lottery, no annual cap, and no registration fee. H-1B requires you to enter a randomised lottery with roughly a one-in-four chance of selection. An E-3 approval depends entirely on meeting the specialty occupation standard and having an employer file the LCA, not on luck or timing.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Senior Test Automation Engineer?
Yes, but you need a new LCA certified by DOL and a fresh E-3 visa stamp tied to the new employer before you start working there. Unlike H-1B portability, E-3 status doesn't transfer automatically. If you're already in the U.S., your current E-3 remains valid until its expiry date, but you can't begin work for the new employer until the new visa is issued.
