Attorney Editor
Role Summary:
Join our Global Legal Commentary team to source, create, edit, and maintain high-quality legal content for platforms like Westlaw, print, and Proview. This entry-level role requires strong editorial skills and effective relationship management to maintain our world-class Commentary collection. The position is hybrid, requiring in-office work 2 days per week. It is available in Minneapolis-St. Paul.
About the Role:
In this opportunity as a Commentary Attorney Editor you will:
- Source, review, and maintain legal commentary content, supporting workflows and projects for online, print, and e-book products.
- Manage third-party and internal relationships to adhere to publishing schedules and quality standards and ensure timely content delivery.
- Stay current with legal trends and market developments.
- Demonstrate expertise, efficiency, and curiosity in using Westlaw and other legal research technology.
- Create, edit, and update secondary legal content, including practice tips, highlights, and other features. Identify and organize key legal issues. Verify accuracy and completeness of legal content.
- Leverage legal knowledge and experience to test and validate AI solutions by working across teams to create gold data, and test and grade model outputs.
- Prioritize work and communicate effectively with stakeholders in the production of legal content and understand the roles and responsibilities of each collaborator/team member and how each role impacts the work.
- Demonstrate competence on company specific systems necessary to perform your job functions and develop knowledge of Thomson Reuters content and products, as well as those of competitors.
About You:
You’re a fit for the role of Commentary Attorney Editor if you meet the following qualifications:
- Law degree from an accredited law school required
- Practice experience or legal editorial experience, or equivalent, strongly preferred; law review or journal experience preferred
- Self-starter with aptitude for legal research and writing, including experience using Westlaw and/or Practical Law and other products used for legal research
- Analytical thinker who uses logic and collaboration to solve difficult problems
- Decisive with a focus on making quality decisions efficiently and productively
- Ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and communicate complex legal material
- Comfortable working in a fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and projects and pursue them with energy and drive
- A positive teammate who is flexible and adaptable and will work successfully in a shared environment
- Strong communicator who can speak and write clearly and effectively with all contacts, both in and outside Thomson Reuters
- Proficiency in and familiarity with Microsoft Office 365

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $58,100 USD - $107,900 USD.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
