EHS Manager Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ehs manager in Georgia?
Becoming an ehs manager in Georgia starts with a bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental science, engineering, or a closely related field. Georgia does not require a state-issued EHS license, but most employers expect nationally recognized credentials such as the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) offered through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Candidates who build experience in Georgia's dominant industries like manufacturing, construction, or chemical processing and pursue the CSP are consistently the strongest hires.
Which companies hire ehs managers in Georgia?
Employers hiring ehs managers in Georgia right now include Skanska, Amazon, and QXO, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's large manufacturing base, active port operations in Savannah, and presence of major logistics and aerospace employers make it one of the Southeast's steadier markets for EHS hiring year-round.
Which Georgia cities have the most ehs manager jobs?
Atlanta, Acworth, and Augusta account for the most ehs manager openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates due to its concentration of corporate headquarters, distribution centers, and construction activity, while Savannah's volume reflects the Port of Georgia and surrounding industrial growth, and Augusta draws openings from its manufacturing and energy sectors.
Are there remote ehs manager jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they're rare. EHS managers typically work on-site because the role requires physical inspections, incident response, and hands-on safety program oversight that cannot be done remotely. About 0% of ehs manager openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to cover corporate EHS policy, compliance reporting, or multi-site program management rather than facility-level safety operations.
How can I get hired as a ehs manager in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing an EHS coordinator or safety technician role at one of Georgia's large manufacturers or logistics operators, where structured onboarding gives you hands-on exposure to OSHA compliance and incident reporting. Employers like those in the Savannah industrial corridor and metro Atlanta distribution centers regularly hire candidates moving from adjacent roles such as quality control technician, operations supervisor, or environmental technician. Earning the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) credential before or during your first role signals seriousness and accelerates advancement toward a full manager title in Georgia's competitive market.
Where can I find and apply to ehs manager jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to ehs manager jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings to see roles that match your experience and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
