INTRODUCTION
PPG has an exciting opportunity for an Aerospace Shipping and Receiving Supervisor at our Kennesaw, GA location. In this on-site role with PPG's Aerospace Business, you'll lead daily operations of the Shipping and Receiving Departments, with a focus on warehouse flow, team leadership, and continuous improvement. In this role you will help ensure safe, efficient operations that support PPG's sales and delivery goals.
This will be an on-site position at our Kennesaw, GA facility and report directly to the Aerospace Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the Shipping Department
- Oversee drivers, trucks, and weekly delivery schedules
- Ensure department goals are met with safety, quality, and procedural standards
- Direct workflow, train employees, and ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Coordinate material and equipment needs for shipping and receiving activities
- Lead Lean initiatives to drive process improvements and reduce waste
- Monitor daily operations to maintain schedule adherence and safe practices
- Hire, train, develop, and retain qualified team members
- Lead daily team activities by setting clear expectations, communicating effectively, and managing multiple priorities to meet operational goals
- Apply basic math skills to perform standard and metric conversions accurately in daily operations
Qualifications
- Only US Citizens, Green card holders, political asylees, or refugees are eligible to apply
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- 4+ years in a lead or supervisory role within shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory operations required
- Forklift certification and DOTA/IATA/IMDG experience a plus
- Experience using QAD or similar ERP system a plus
