INTRODUCTION
Spreetail propels brands to increase their ecommerce market share across the globe while improving their operational costs. The Safety team exists to protect Spreetail’s most important asset — our people. The Safety Manager drives a proactive safety culture by owning both the strategic oversight and the hands-on, day-to-day execution of safety programs across the fulfillment center. This role doesn’t just manage from a desk — it is a floor-level presence that conducts walk-throughs, leads incident investigations, delivers training, and ensures compliance is lived, not just documented. In the absence of dedicated Safety Supervisors, the Safety Manager personally carries out the full breadth of responsibilities required to keep every associate safe and every program audit-ready.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
How you will achieve success:
- Ownership of key ORIR & LTI rates, currently trending at or below industry benchmarks for warehouse and e-fulfillment operations — and you own the data, support an integrated Operations team in determining the root cause, and drive the corrective and preventative actions to completion.
- Every OSHA recordable is documented accurately, investigated thoroughly, and corrective actions are closed on time — with integrated Operations support and engagement.
- Support P&C in ensuring new hire and PIT safety training completion is at or above 95% for all associates and departments at all times — ensure onboarding safety training is completed before a new hire’s first shift on the floor.
- Monthly safety audits are conducted, scored, and open items are tracked to closure — audit results are consistently improving quarter-over-quarter.
- Emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and first aid resources are current, posted, and practiced regularly across all shifts.
- Workers’ compensation claims are actively managed — modified duty programs are utilized, claims are reported on time, and costs are trending down.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
What experiences will help you in this role:
- 3+ years of safety or EHS experience, ideally in a production, warehouse, distribution center, or e-fulfillment environment.
- Formal or extensive regulatory experience and exposure. Responsibility for 300 logs, complaints, and onsite support.
- Experience supporting multi-shift operations, including night or weekend shifts.
- Direct, hands-on experience conducting Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
- Proven ability to own and execute integrated safety programs independently — this role does not have Safety Supervisor support and requires someone who can carry the management, influence/cooperations, and the execution.
- Comfortable as a floor-level presence: a significant portion of each shift is spent on the warehouse floor, not behind a desk.
In an effort to Make Spreetail Better, we hire people that are aligned with our values and are passionate about pursuing ecommerce excellence. We believe the right person can learn what is needed to succeed in their role, so we encourage job applicants to apply even if you don't meet all the qualifications listed. We are looking for diverse backgrounds and perspectives, so we don’t require college degrees and welcome non-linear career paths. EHS Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ehs manager in Texas?
Most ehs managers in Texas start with a bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or an engineering discipline. Texas does not issue a state-specific license for EHS professionals, but employers strongly favor candidates who hold nationally recognized credentials such as the Certified Safety Professional from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or the Certified Industrial Hygienist from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene. Gaining field experience in Texas's dominant industries, particularly energy, petrochemical, and construction, is the most direct path to a management role.
Which companies hire ehs managers in Texas?
Employers hiring ehs managers in Texas right now include Amazon, FirstService Residential, and Dennis, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of refining, chemical processing, and large-scale construction operations means demand is especially consistent among energy majors, industrial contractors, and logistics companies with Gulf Coast facilities.
Which Texas cities have the most ehs manager jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Austin have the most ehs manager openings in Texas. Houston leads because it is the center of the U.S. petrochemical and refining industry, while Dallas-Fort Worth draws demand from corporate headquarters, logistics hubs, and large construction activity, and San Antonio's growing manufacturing and military installation presence supports steady openings.
Are there remote ehs manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. EHS management is fundamentally a field-based role requiring on-site inspections, incident response, and direct oversight of workers and facilities, which limits remote work. About 4% of ehs manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026. The portions of the role most suited to remote work are compliance reporting, policy writing, and training development rather than day-to-day site safety oversight.
How can I get hired as a ehs manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as an EHS coordinator or safety specialist, roles that large Texas employers in construction, energy, and manufacturing regularly fill with candidates who hold a relevant degree and an entry-level credential such as the OSHA 30-hour Construction or General Industry certification. Companies like Turner Construction, Zachry Group, and major chemical plant operators in the Houston Ship Channel area regularly bring on associate EHS staff and provide on-the-job mentorship toward full management roles. Lateral moves from roles like industrial hygiene technician, environmental compliance analyst, or field safety observer are also common entry points. Earning a CSP Associate designation while in those roles signals genuine progression to hiring managers.
Where can I find and apply to ehs manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to ehs manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Texas employers. Search the listings by location or specialty, find the roles that fit your background, and apply directly to each one.
