Endodontist Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a endodontist in New York?
To practice as an endodontist in New York, you must hold an active New York State dental license issued through the State Education Department's Office of the Professions, which requires a dental degree from an accredited program and passage of national and regional board examinations. Beyond general licensure, you must complete an accredited two-year endodontic residency program to qualify for specialist positions. Board certification through the American Board of Endodontology strengthens candidacy at academic and group practice employers.
Which companies hire endodontists in New York?
Employers hiring endodontists in New York right now include Aspen Dental, University at Buffalo, and 42 North Dental, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's dense concentration of dental service organizations, academic health systems, and multi-specialty group practices means openings appear regularly across both the metro area and upstate regional centers.
Which New York cities have the most endodontist jobs?
The cities with the most endodontist openings in New York are Buffalo, Rochester, and Poughkeepsie. New York City dominates due to its scale of dental service organizations, academic medical centers, and high patient volume, while Buffalo and Albany reflect the presence of regional hospital-affiliated dental programs and established group practices serving large upstate populations.
Are there remote endodontist jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're rare. Endodontics is a hands-on clinical specialty requiring direct patient care and equipment that cannot be performed remotely. About 0% of endodontist openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those postings typically involve administrative, consulting, or teaching components rather than direct clinical work. Most practicing endodontists in New York work entirely on-site.
How can I get hired as a endodontist in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing an accredited endodontic residency, which large New York institutions such as NYU College of Dentistry, Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, and Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine offer as two-year programs that serve as direct pipelines into associate roles. New graduates without independent practice experience typically enter as associate endodontists within group practices or dental service organizations, where mentorship and caseload ramp-up are built in. Holding an active New York dental license and strong residency case volume gives candidates a clear edge.
