CLC Engineering, LLC is a growing civil and structural engineering firm located in Alexandria, Louisiana, specializing in the physical civil and structural design of high-voltage electrical substations and switchyards.
We are seeking an experienced, motivated Professional Engineer (PE) to join our team as an Engineering Operations Manager / Senior Project Engineer.

This is an opportunity to become an integral part of a growing engineering firm and have a direct impact on how projects are planned, staffed, engineered, executed, and delivered.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As Engineering Operations Manager, you will work closely with the Company President to oversee engineering operations, support business development, manage resources, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to CLC Engineering's quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Serve as a key member of the company leadership team.
- Act as a trusted partner and right-hand to the Company President on operational, technical, and management matters.
- Travel up to approximately 25% as needed.
THIS IS MORE THAN A MANAGEMENT POSITION
We are looking for someone who still enjoys engineering.
This is not a desk-only management position where your job ends with assigning work.
Our Operations Manager needs to understand the technical challenges our engineers and designers face, provide guidance, review engineering work, solve problems, and jump in and perform engineering work when the team needs additional support.
You should be comfortable moving between engineering, project management, employee leadership, client communication, and company operations.
If you enjoy solving difficult engineering problems, mentoring other engineers, managing projects, working directly with clients, and helping shape the future of a company, this could be an excellent fit.

Engineering Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a engineering in Louisiana?
To become a licensed professional engineer in Louisiana, you must earn an accredited engineering degree, pass the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, accumulate qualifying work experience under a licensed PE, and pass the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam. Licensure is issued by the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board. Many employers in the state hire engineer-in-training candidates while they complete their experience requirement before full licensure.
Which companies hire engineerings in Louisiana?
Companies currently hiring engineerings in Louisiana include Bunge, Entergy, and W&O Supply, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Louisiana's concentration of refining, petrochemical, and offshore energy operations means large industrial contractors and integrated energy companies represent a significant share of ongoing engineering demand across the state.
Which Louisiana cities have the most engineering jobs?
New Orleans, Metairie, and Westwego account for the most engineering openings in Louisiana, driven by the region's industrial base. Baton Rouge's dense corridor of refineries and chemical plants anchors consistent demand, New Orleans draws civil and structural engineering work tied to coastal infrastructure and port operations, and Lake Charles supports mechanical and chemical engineering roles connected to its liquefied natural gas and petrochemical facilities.
Are there remote engineering jobs in Louisiana?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely analytical fields because much engineering work in Louisiana involves site visits, plant inspections, and hands-on project coordination. About 25% of engineering openings tied to Louisiana are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those roles tend to concentrate in areas such as project controls, engineering design review, and software or systems engineering where physical presence is not required daily.
How can I get hired as a engineering in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for engineer-in-training or junior engineer roles at large industrial contractors and energy companies headquartered in Louisiana, such as those operating along the Baton Rouge chemical corridor or in the Lake Charles LNG sector. Many of these employers run structured new-graduate programs that pair entry-level engineers with senior mentors. Earning your Fundamentals of Engineering certification early and building familiarity with process safety or AutoCAD strengthens any application considerably.
Where can I find and apply to engineering jobs in Louisiana?
You can find and apply to engineering jobs in Louisiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search the roles that fit your specialty and experience level and apply directly to the ones that match. No account creation is required to view listings.
