Summary
Entegee Engineering is actively seeking an Electrical Engineering Coordinator in North Kingstown, RI. This is a direct hire, permanent position. This role is responsible for leading vessel electrical system design from preliminary concept through final implementation while ensuring regulatory compliance and on-time project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical system design from preliminary concept through final design implementation
- Develop and revise electrical schematics and drawings in accordance with project requirements and regulatory standards
- Oversee daily activities of the electrical engineering team
- Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability
- Ensure vessel electrical systems comply with ABS, Coast Guard, and applicable maritime regulations
- Support integration of electrical systems with other shipboard systems including piping, hydraulics, and HVAC
- Manage engineering changes and maintain configuration control documentation
- Support schedule adherence to ensure on-time project delivery
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and design packages
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Marine, or Mechanical Engineering; substantial industry experience considered in lieu of degree
- 7–10 years of commercial maritime or electrical military engineering experience
- Experience with vessel electrical systems, machinery monitoring systems, power controls, and display systems
- Experience with AC drives, motors, transformers, control circuits, and related electrical components
- Experience developing schematics and revising electrical drawings, including Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
- Proficiency with ShipConstructor, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with technical documentation and engineering reporting
- Knowledge of ABS and U.S. Coast Guard rules and regulations
- Familiarity with shipboard systems including piping, hydraulics, and HVAC
