About the role
Encampus Academy is seeking a passionate, experienced English Teacher (K–12) to support our year-round reading, writing, and literacy enrichment programs, along with our seasonal STEAM and academic summer camps. You'll work in small-group settings focused on skill development, creativity, and academic confidence.
This role is ideal for a current or former classroom teacher looking for flexible, part-time work outside traditional school hours.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging lessons in:
- Reading comprehension
- Academic writing
- Creative writing
- Grammar and communication skills
- Support students across K–12 grade levels through structured enrichment programs and camps
- Align instruction with local academic standards (LCPS / FCPS familiarity a plus)
- Assess student progress and share feedback with students and parents
- Foster a supportive environment that builds confidence and curiosity
- Support small-group tutoring sessions as needed
- Maintain basic student progress notes and communication records
- Collaborate with program leadership on curriculum refinement
Required
- Exceptional written and spoken English, with the ability to model strong grammar, vocabulary, and communication for students
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Comfort teaching small groups across multiple grade levels
- Reliable, flexible availability for after-school/evening and/or summer daytime hours
- Successful completion of a background check (employment is contingent on clearance)

- Current or prior classroom teaching experience
- Familiarity with Loudoun County (LCPS) or Fairfax County (FCPS) curriculum expectations
- Experience teaching reading, writing, or literacy development across multiple grade levels
