This is an onsite, full-time, Monday through Friday, 8: 00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Project Manager 1 position located in Dulles, VA, Lombard, IL, or Pennsauken, NJ.
Compensation: $40,000 - $48,000.00 per year
SUMMARY:
Responsible for facilitating internal and external communication between clients, laboratory staff, and sales staff. Uses intermediate to complex professional and technical knowledge to communicate capabilities, project milestones, updates, delays, and deliverables.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serves as the primary point of contact for clients regarding project updates, issues, deliverables, and scope changes.
- Leads client meetings in-person or via teleconference, as needed or as requested by the Account Executive.
- Collaborates and communicates with laboratory staff on project status.
- Identifies and resolves project issues or delays that may impact quality or turnaround time; communicates alternative solutions professionally and proactively to clients.
- Collaborates with Account Executives and Department Leads to determine testing capabilities and manage quote changes based on project scope.
- Updates the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) with project status, cost, and client account information.
- Supports Sample Management on large or complex projects, including reviewing project needs, resolving incoming sample issues, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Generates client and internal reports in a timely and efficient manner.
- Reviews dashboards and active projects to maintain progress and meet client deadlines.
- Provides intermediate to complex analysis and interpretation of data results to clients.
- Assists in developing and participating in project or cross-functional program objectives, including budgets, timelines, materials, personnel, and other requirements; receives direction and presents information to management.
- Interprets and applies department policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations, seeking guidance as needed.
- Contributes to departmental efficiency and effectiveness by offering suggestions and actively participating in team initiatives.
- Promotes and supports the mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating professionalism, cooperation, and respectful interactions with clients and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in project management, chemistry, or a closely related field; AND at least three (3) years of related experience, including work with specialized or technical programs or operations; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Required Knowledge:
- General understanding of project management program administration, policies, and procedures.
- Intermediate to advanced methods for resolving project management issues and concerns.
- Working knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
- General knowledge of laboratory testing capabilities.
- Familiarity with computer applications and systems relevant to the role.
- Principles and practices of effective teamwork.
- Communication methods to ensure safe, effective, and appropriate operations with staff and clients.
- Proper use of business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

- Training others on policies and procedures related to the work.
- Contributing as both a team member and individual contributor in project environments.
- Interpreting, applying, and explaining laws, codes, and regulations.

- Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Mobility to work in a lab and office setting, use standard office and lab equipment and stamina to sit for extended periods of time; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects; vision to read printed materials and computer screens; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a lab and office setting. Work is subject to chemicals, fumes, gases, noxious odors, and related items in a lab and sample setting.
