Field Operations Supervisor Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field operations supervisor in Texas?
Most field operations supervisors in Texas reach the role by combining industry-specific experience with a relevant bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related discipline. In energy and pipeline work, employers often expect a Texas Railroad Commission awareness and may require OSHA 30-Hour certification. Construction-focused roles commonly require a OSHA 30 card and, for some specialties, a Texas contractor licensing familiarity. Promotions from crew lead, field technician, or project coordinator positions are the most common entry point.
How much do field operations supervisors make in Texas?
Field operations supervisors in Texas earn a median of about $74,520 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $48,000 for the lowest 10% to over $109,460 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field operations supervisors in Texas?
Employers hiring field operations supervisors in Texas right now include Cable One, Clean Harbors, and Nine Energy Service, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy majors, large-scale construction firms, and regional distribution networks means consistent demand across both metro and outlying areas.
Which Texas cities have the most field operations supervisor jobs?
Beaumont, Houston, and Longview have the most field operations supervisor openings in Texas. Houston drives the largest volume through its energy, petrochemical, and port logistics industries, while Dallas anchors distribution, construction, and corporate field operations, and San Antonio reflects steady demand from military contractor work and regional utilities expansion.
Are there remote field operations supervisor jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Field operations supervision is inherently on-site work requiring direct oversight of crews, equipment, and physical worksites, so most roles require a regular presence in the field. About 0% of field operations supervisor openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions typically involve coordination, reporting, or planning functions rather than hands-on crew management.
How can I get hired as a field operations supervisor in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a field technician, crew lead, or operations coordinator role at a Texas-based employer in energy, logistics, or construction. Large Texas operators like refinery contractors in the Houston Ship Channel and regional utilities across Central Texas regularly promote from within and hire associates into rotational field programs. Earning an OSHA 30-Hour certification and a commercial driver's license gives candidates a measurable edge and opens doors to supervisory-track positions more quickly.
Where can I find and apply to field operations supervisor jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to field operations supervisor jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Find roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to the employer through the listing.
