Field Service Technician – Industrial Air Compressors & Equipment
Professional Compressed Air Services of Alabama is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician with experience in industrial maintenance, compressed air systems, dryers, and related systems. HVAC/Refrigeration experience is desired but not disqualifying. This role is hands‑on, customer‑facing, and ideal for someone who can work independently within well‑defined guidelines.
All work is local in the North Alabama region. After a 90‑day probationary period, technicians are provided a company vehicle, company cell phone, and fuel card.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial air compressors and dryers
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (inspections, lubrication, adjustments)
- Use common hand tools and follow proper repair procedures
- Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and system data
- Install industrial air compressors and dryers
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, manuals, engineering drawings, and work orders
- Follow all safety procedures and customer site policies
- Maintain professional communication and appearance while interacting with customers
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers
- Other duties as assigned
Work Environment
- Standing for extended periods
- Walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, climbing ladders/stairs
- Lifting up to 25 lbs regularly; up to 50 lbs occasionally (heavier with assistance)
- Use of PPE such as gloves, dust masks, and protective clothing
- Work performed in industrial and outdoor environments
Requirements
- Must provide own basic hand tools
- Occasional overtime and weekend availability
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug test
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Qualifications
- Experience with mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, electrical/electronics, controls, and troubleshooting
- Refrigeration/HVAC experience highly desirable
- Ability to understand, read, and communicate in English
- High school diploma or equivalent
Compensation
- Pay dependent on experience
- Paid weekly
- Company vehicle, cell phone, and fuel card after 90 days
