The Opportunity
We are hiring a Field Service Manager to lead our growing team of Field Service Engineers and take ownership of service delivery across key customer accounts. This is not a desk-only management position. The right person can lead technicians, organize complex schedules, communicate confidently with customers, understand difficult equipment problems, and improve the systems behind reliable field execution.
What You Will Do
- Lead, schedule, coach, and develop Field Service Engineers supporting semiconductor capital equipment.
- Own customer-service execution, including installations, qualifications, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, rebuilds, and upgrades.
- Maintain a forward-looking schedule and assign technicians based on skill, availability, travel, urgency, and customer commitments.
- Serve as the management escalation point for technical, scheduling, and account issues.
- Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders and provide timely, direct updates on progress, risks, and recovery plans.
- Ensure field reports, time entries, parts usage, service records, and closeout documentation are accurate and current in NetSuite.
- Monitor tool risks, repeat failures, utilization, service performance, travel, parts consumption, revenue, and margin.
- Coordinate critical spares, field kits, depot inventory, and consignment needs with Purchasing and Operations.
- Work with Engineering and Quality on root-cause analysis, technical bulletins, corrective actions, and design improvements.
- Support service-contract scopes, estimates, renewals, change orders, and customer account plans.
- Maintain high standards for safety, cleanroom conduct, workmanship, documentation, and customer professionalism.
What We Are Looking For
- Five or more years of semiconductor capital-equipment field service experience.
- Experience leading or managing Field Service Engineers, technical teams, customer accounts, or complex field assignments.
- Strong working knowledge of electromechanical equipment, controls, motion, robotics, vacuum, gas delivery, pneumatics, and temperature-control systems.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, make sound decisions under pressure, and hold work to documented completion.
- Strong customer communication and the confidence to work with technicians, engineers, operations leaders, and senior customer stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, including occasional assignments of up to four weeks.
- Technical degree preferred; equivalent directly relevant experience will be considered.
Experience That Sets You Apart
- Direct experience with ASM Epsilon or E2000 systems, epitaxy, CVD, or related thermal-processing equipment.
- Hands-on experience with equipment installation and qualification, helium leak checking, robot teaching, electrical hookup, and schematic-based troubleshooting.
- Experience with service profit and loss, forecasting, labor utilization, service contracts, or spare-parts operations.
- Experience using NetSuite, SAP, or another ERP and field-service platform.
- A record of improving service procedures, training, preventive maintenance, reporting, or customer uptime.
Why Join Saxony Thermal
- Lead a growing service organization where your decisions have visible impact.
- Work with a team that has deep experience supporting legacy semiconductor equipment and its installed base.
- Help build the processes, training, and customer-service standards needed for the company’s next stage of growth.
- Competitive compensation and benefits based on experience and qualifications.

Field Service Manager Jobs in Oregon: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field service manager in Oregon?
Most field service managers in Oregon start as field service technicians or engineers and move into management after building hands-on experience. Oregon does not require a state-issued license specific to the field service manager role, but employers in regulated industries such as electrical or plumbing services may require that candidates hold or supervise Oregon-licensed tradespeople. A bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or business strengthens your candidacy, and certifications from the Technology Services Industry Association are widely recognized by Oregon employers.
How much do field service managers make in Oregon?
Field service managers in Oregon earn a median of about $86,970 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $59,110 for the lowest 10% to over $138,040 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field service managers in Oregon?
Employers hiring field service managers in Oregon right now include ASM, Lam Research, and ABB, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of October 2026. Oregon's concentration of manufacturing, utilities, and medical technology companies means demand for field service managers remains steady outside of economic downturns.
Which Oregon cities have the most field service manager jobs?
Portland, Hillsboro, and Tualatin have the most field service manager openings in Oregon. Portland drives the largest share given its dense concentration of manufacturing, semiconductor, and logistics employers, while Eugene and Bend attract openings tied to regional utilities, healthcare systems, and growing technology operations in the Willamette Valley and Central Oregon corridors.
Are there remote field service manager jobs in Oregon?
Yes, but they're rare. Field service management is inherently site-dependent, requiring regular visits to customer locations, technician oversight, and hands-on escalation support. About 23% of field service manager openings tied to Oregon are remote or hybrid as of October 2026, and those positions tend to concentrate administrative duties like scheduling, reporting, and vendor coordination rather than direct field supervision.
How can I get hired as a field service manager in Oregon with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is to enter as a field service technician or service coordinator and build supervisory experience from there. Oregon-based employers like Daimler Trucks North America and Oregon Health and Science University hire into associate field or technical coordinator roles that develop the operational skills managers need. Completing a Technology Services Industry Association certification or an Oregon community college program in industrial technology strengthens applications, and moving from roles like dispatch supervisor or service team lead is a common lateral step into management.
Where can I find and apply to field service manager jobs in Oregon?
You can find and apply to field service manager jobs in Oregon on Migrate Mate, which lists current Oregon openings. Search the roles available, find the ones that match your experience and location, and apply directly to each posting that fits.
