JOB SUMMARY:
The Division of Academic Affairs at Clinton College invites applications to fill the position of Full-Time Faculty in the Department of Nursing. The incumbent will be responsible to teach and support students across the didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical components of the BSN program. The successful candidate will contribute to curriculum development, student advising and mentoring, NCLEX-RN readiness, program assessment, and the ongoing pursuit of programmatic excellence. This role is well suited to a nurse educator who is mission-aligned, student-centered, and committed to the success of a diverse student population.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teaching and Learning
- Teach 4/4 academic load
- Teach assigned didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical courses within the BSN curriculum, maintaining rigor and alignment with the AACN Essentials and the NCLEX-RN Test Plan.
- Supervise and evaluate students in clinical and simulation settings, ensuring patient safety and adherence to professional standards of practice.
- Develop and deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction using varied teaching strategies that address diverse learning needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Curriculum, Assessment, and Accreditation
- Participate in the design, implementation, review, and evaluation of the nursing curriculum consistent with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act (Chapter 91) and recognized programmatic accreditation standards (ACEN or CCNE).
- Contribute to the assessment of student learning outcomes and to continuous quality improvement of the program.
- Support institutional (TRACS) and programmatic accreditation, including preparation of reports, evidence, and self-study materials.
- Promote strong NCLEX-RN pass rates through targeted instruction, remediation, and readiness initiatives.
- Advising, Mentoring, and Student Success
- Advise and mentor nursing students, supporting retention, progression, and professional formation.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment that reflects the mission and heritage of the College.
- Refer students to academic support, tutoring, and student success resources as needed.
- Service and Professional Development
- Participate in faculty governance, division and college committees, and program events.
- Maintain current clinical competence and licensure, and engage in ongoing professional development and scholarship.
- Represent the nursing program in recruitment, orientation, community engagement, and clinical partner relations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or the Office of Academic Affairs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina, or eligibility for South Carolina licensure, or a valid multistate (compact) license.
- Qualifications that meet South Carolina Board of Nursing faculty requirements under Chapter 91.
- A minimum of two years of recent clinical nursing practice.
- Demonstrated clinical competence and current knowledge of professional nursing standards.
- Commitment to the mission of Clinton College and to the success of a diverse student body.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Earned doctorate in nursing or a related field (DNP or PhD).
- Prior teaching experience in a pre-licensure BSN or ADN program.
- Experience with high-fidelity simulation and clinical instruction.
- Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential.
- Experience at a historically Black college or university or another minority-serving institution.
- Specialty certification and expertise in a high-need clinical area (for example, medical-surgical, maternal-child, mental health, community, or gerontological nursing).
