Financial Representative Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial representative in Delaware?
To become a financial representative in Delaware, you need to pass the FINRA Series 6 or Series 7 exam and obtain a state insurance producer license through the Delaware Department of Insurance, which requires completing a pre-licensing education course and passing a state exam. Most employers also expect a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field. Sponsorship for FINRA exams is typically arranged through a hiring firm once you accept an offer.
Which companies hire financial representatives in Delaware?
Employers hiring financial representatives in Delaware right now include JPMorganChase, Magellan Health, and Solenis, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's concentration of financial services and insurance headquarters in the Wilmington corridor means a steady pipeline of openings with large, established firms year-round.
Which Delaware cities have the most financial representative jobs?
The cities with the most financial representative openings in Delaware are Wilmington, Newark, and New Castle. Wilmington drives the largest share of demand as Delaware's financial services hub, home to major bank and insurance headquarters, while Dover and Newark draw openings from regional insurance carriers, credit unions, and firms serving the state government and university communities.
Are there remote financial representative jobs in Delaware?
Yes, though they're less common than in purely analytical roles because financial representatives often meet clients in person and build relationships locally. About 32% of financial representative openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with remote arrangements most often available for servicing existing client accounts rather than new business development roles.
How can I get hired as a financial representative in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to associate or training programs at Delaware's major insurance carriers and financial services firms, where companies like Lincoln Financial Group and Nationwide bring on candidates without prior sales experience and sponsor their licensing. Lateral entry from adjacent roles such as bank teller, customer service representative, or loan processor at Delaware credit unions and community banks is also common, as those roles demonstrate client-facing skills that transfer directly. Completing your Delaware insurance pre-licensing course before applying gives you a clear edge.
Where can I find and apply to financial representative jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to financial representative jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current Delaware openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, licensing, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
