Financial Services Representative Jobs in Montana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial services representative in Montana?
Most financial services representative roles in Montana require a relevant bachelor's degree plus one or more licenses depending on your focus. If you sell insurance products, you must pass the Montana State Auditor's Office licensing exam and obtain an active Montana insurance producer license. If you sell securities or investment products, you register through FINRA by passing the Series 6 or Series 7 exam. Entry-level banking roles may not require a license immediately but expect you to pursue one within your first year.
Which companies hire financial services representatives in Montana?
Companies currently hiring financial services representatives in Montana include Benefis Health System, onXmaps, and Tetra Tech, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Montana's strong community banking sector and the presence of regional firms like Glacier Bancorp mean consistent openings appear outside the largest metros as well.
Which Montana cities have the most financial services representative jobs?
Bozeman, Great Falls, and Helena have the most financial services representative openings in Montana. Billings leads because it is Montana's largest city and commercial hub, anchoring the regional offices of banks, insurance carriers, and investment firms, while Missoula and Great Falls support steady demand through their university communities, credit unions, and regional banking networks.
Are there remote financial services representative jobs in Montana?
Yes, but they're less common than fully on-site roles because much of the work involves in-person client consultations, branch operations, and licensed sales activity. About 33% of financial services representative openings tied to Montana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those roles tend to concentrate in financial planning, insurance renewals, and customer service support rather than front-line advisory positions.
How can I get hired as a financial services representative in Montana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a personal banker or customer service representative role at a Montana community bank or credit union, where employers like Glacier Bank and Opportunity Bank of Montana regularly hire candidates without direct financial services experience and provide on-the-job licensing support. Lateral moves from retail management, accounting, or administrative roles are common since employers value numeracy and client communication. Completing your Montana insurance producer exam before applying gives you a meaningful edge even before your first day.
Where can I find and apply to financial services representative jobs in Montana?
You can find and apply to financial services representative jobs in Montana on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Billings, Missoula, Great Falls, and other Montana locations. Search the listings for roles that match your experience and credentials, then apply directly to the employers posting them.
