Financial Services Representative Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial services representative in Tennessee?
Most financial services representative roles in Tennessee require passing one or more FINRA licensing exams, commonly the Series 6 or Series 7, before or shortly after you are hired. Product-selling roles that include insurance also require a life and health insurance license issued through the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. Employers typically sponsor the exams after hire, so a bachelor's degree in finance or business and a clean background check are the practical starting points.
Which companies hire financial services representatives in Tennessee?
Companies currently hiring financial services representatives in Tennessee include World Finance, SmartBank, and State Farm, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tennessee's deep network of regional banks and insurance carriers means openings are spread across both large national brands and homegrown institutions like First Horizon.
Which Tennessee cities have the most financial services representative jobs?
Chattanooga, Oneida, and Memphis consistently post the highest number of financial services representative openings in Tennessee. Nashville dominates because of its dense concentration of insurance headquarters, regional bank branches, and a growing wealth management sector, while Memphis and Knoxville anchor significant commercial banking and retail investment activity that keeps listings steady in both markets.
Are there remote financial services representative jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely analytical finance roles because client-facing relationship work and in-branch compliance requirements keep many positions on-site or hybrid. About 50% of financial services representative openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and the positions most likely to be remote are phone-based investment account servicing and insurance policy support roles.
How can I get hired as a financial services representative in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a retail banking associate or personal banker role at a Tennessee regional bank such as Regions, First Horizon, or Avenue Bank, where employers routinely hire candidates without prior financial services experience and then sponsor FINRA licensing in-house. Credit unions chartered in Tennessee, including ORNL Federal Credit Union and Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, run similar new-hire programs. Candidates who have completed even a part-time insurance licensing course through the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance move to the front of the line for entry roles.
Where can I find and apply to financial services representative jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to financial services representative jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current Tennessee openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly to the ones that match.
