Financial Systems Manager Jobs in South Dakota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial systems manager in South Dakota?
Most financial systems managers in South Dakota enter the role through a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or information systems, followed by several years working inside ERP or financial reporting platforms. South Dakota does not require a state-issued license for this role, but employers across Sioux Falls and Pierre consistently favor candidates with a CPA, CMA, or a vendor certification such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics alongside hands-on system implementation experience.
Which companies hire financial systems managers in South Dakota?
Companies currently hiring financial systems managers in South Dakota include Lloyd Companies, Terex Corporation, and Fidelity Investments, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. South Dakota's strong banking sector, anchored in Sioux Falls, and its large healthcare and state government employers create steady, recurring demand for this role across both private and public sectors.
Which South Dakota cities have the most financial systems manager jobs?
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Watertown have the most financial systems manager openings in South Dakota. Sioux Falls drives the bulk of demand as the state's commercial and financial hub, home to major banks, insurance carriers, and regional healthcare networks, while Rapid City and Pierre contribute openings through healthcare systems, state agency finance offices, and regional corporate headquarters.
Are there remote financial systems manager jobs in South Dakota?
Yes, and more than most fields, since financial systems management is fundamentally an analytical and software-focused role that translates well to distributed work. About 50% of financial systems manager openings tied to South Dakota are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, making it one of the more flexible searches in the state. System configuration, reporting builds, and vendor coordination are the tasks most commonly done fully remote.
How can I get hired as a financial systems manager in South Dakota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a financial analyst, staff accountant, or systems analyst role at a large Sioux Falls employer such as a regional bank, insurance company, or Sanford Health, where exposure to ERP platforms comes quickly. From there, volunteering to lead module upgrades or data migration projects builds the hands-on system experience hiring managers look for. Earning an entry-level ERP certification, such as SAP Certified Associate or Oracle Fusion Financials, gives candidates without a formal systems title a concrete credential to point to.
Where can I find and apply to financial systems manager jobs in South Dakota?
