Which companies hire gastroenterologists in Texas?
Employers hiring gastroenterologists in Texas right now include Baylor College of Medicine, Houston Methodist, and Baylor Scott & White Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's large integrated health systems and academic medical centers drive the bulk of permanent openings, while multispecialty group practices and outpatient GI clinics across the state contribute a growing share of part-time and locum positions.
Which Texas cities have the most gastroenterologist jobs?
Houston, Tyler, and Austin have the most gastroenterologist openings in Texas, reflecting the concentration of major hospital systems, academic medical centers, and large multispecialty group practices in those metros. Houston leads on volume given the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world, while Dallas and San Antonio benefit from dense networks of health system campuses and independent GI specialty groups serving rapidly growing suburban populations.
Are there remote gastroenterologist jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Gastroenterology is a procedure-driven specialty that requires in-person patient care, so the vast majority of roles are on-site. About 0% of gastroenterologist openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions almost exclusively involve telemedicine consultations, follow-up visits, or administrative and utilization review roles rather than procedural work.
How can I get hired as a gastroenterologist in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly through a gastroenterology fellowship training program at a Texas academic medical center such as UT Southwestern, Baylor College of Medicine, or the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, all of which place fellows into faculty or attending roles upon completion. Newly credentialed physicians without independent practice history can also pursue locum tenens contracts through Texas health systems as a bridge to permanent employment, and demonstrating proficiency in high-demand procedures like endoscopic ultrasound gives candidates a concrete edge in competitive markets.
