Align your credentials with EB-2 requirements
Agent Development roles that require a master's degree or equivalent in business, insurance, or a related field can qualify for EB-2. Document your advanced degree or show a bachelor's plus five years of progressive specialized experience before applying.
Search for employers with PERM filing history
Use Migrate Mate to filter Agent Development roles by employers who have filed PERM labor certifications before. Past filings signal that a company already has the HR infrastructure and legal counsel to sponsor foreign professionals.
Verify your role's specialty occupation classification
Review the O*NET profile for Agent Development occupations to confirm the role typically requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher. This classification strengthens your PERM petition and reduces the risk of a DOL audit or denial.
Ask about the PERM timeline before accepting an offer
PERM labor certification typically takes six to twelve months before your employer can file the I-140 petition. Knowing where an employer is in this process at the offer stage helps you plan your current visa status and any gap periods.
Check prevailing wage levels using OFLC Wage Search
DOL sets prevailing wages for PERM positions by location and job zone. Run an OFLC Wage Search for Agent Development roles in your target city to confirm the offered salary meets the minimum required for the labor certification to be approved.
Understand how EB-3 backlogs affect your country of birth
EB-3 sponsorship has no annual cap concerns for most countries, but nationals of India and China face priority date backlogs that can extend the green card wait by years. Check the USCIS Visa Bulletin before deciding between EB-2 and EB-3 pathways.

Find Agent Development JobsAgent Development Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Agent Development roles typically qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Agent Development positions qualify for EB-3 as skilled workers or professionals requiring a bachelor's degree. Roles with direct reports, strategy responsibilities, or requirements for a master's degree in business or insurance may qualify for EB-2. The specific job duties and minimum education requirements in the PERM job description determine which category applies.
How is green card sponsorship through PERM different from H-1B for this role?
PERM sponsorship leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary status with a fixed expiration date. Unlike H-1B, there is no annual lottery for employment-based green cards, and EB-3 sponsorship is not capped in a way that prevents most nationalities from filing. The process is longer, typically two to four years from PERM to green card approval, but the outcome is lawful permanent residency.
What does an employer need to do before sponsoring an Agent Development hire for a green card?
The employer must conduct a supervised recruitment process to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role. DOL reviews this process as part of PERM labor certification. The employer then files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. You cannot self-petition under EB-2 or EB-3 for an Agent Development role unless you qualify for the National Interest Waiver, which is separate.
How can I find Agent Development employers who sponsor green cards?
Use Migrate Mate to search Agent Development roles filtered by employers with employment-based green card sponsorship history. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to companies that have never navigated PERM before. Targeting employers with prior filings shortens the timeline considerably because their legal and HR processes are already established.
Can I switch employers after my PERM is filed but before I receive my green card?
Yes, but timing matters. Under AC21 portability rules, if your I-140 has been approved and your I-485 adjustment of status application has been pending for 180 days or more, you can change employers to a same or similar occupation without restarting the process. Agent Development roles within the same occupational group generally qualify, but you should confirm the new role's duties align before making the move.
