Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as an Applications Manager
Document your degree field carefully
PERM requires your education to match the job's minimum requirements. If your degree is in a related but not identical field, gather course transcripts and a credential evaluation showing alignment with the Applications Manager role.
Target employers with dedicated IT departments
Large enterprises running complex software portfolios are far more likely to sponsor green cards for Applications Manager roles than small businesses. Look for organizations with internal HR compliance teams already familiar with PERM filing requirements.
Search for green card sponsors on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Applications Manager openings by employers who have active EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship history, so you spend your time on roles where green card filing is already a realistic outcome.
Verify prevailing wage before negotiating salary
Your employer sets your PERM job description partly to match the DOL prevailing wage. Use OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for Applications Manager in your metro area before any offer conversation.
Confirm the employer will start PERM within six months
Many employers wait until after a probationary period before filing. Negotiate a clear written commitment on PERM start timing during the offer stage, so your green card clock begins as early as possible.

Find Applications Manager JobsApplications Manager Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Applications Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Applications Manager positions qualify for EB-3 sponsorship when they require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. If the employer defines the role as requiring a master's degree or you have a bachelor's plus at least five years of progressive specialized experience, EB-2 classification becomes possible. USCIS evaluates the job requirements as written on the PERM application, not just your credentials.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for Applications Manager roles?
H-1B is a temporary status with a three-year initial period and lottery exposure each fiscal year. An employment-based green card through PERM leads to permanent residency with no renewal requirement and no annual lottery. The trade-off is time: PERM labor certification, I-140 approval, and adjustment of status together can take two to four years for most nationalities, though priority dates add wait time for applicants from India and China.
What does a PERM labor certification involve for this role?
The employer must run a federally prescribed recruitment process to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available for the Applications Manager position. This includes posting the job, collecting and documenting applicant rejections, and submitting the ETA Form 9089 to DOL. PERM audit rates have increased in recent years, so thorough documentation of each recruitment step is essential before the employer files.
How can I find Applications Manager jobs with green card sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Applications Manager openings filtered by employers with EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship history. This saves you from applying to roles where sponsorship is possible in theory but rarely offered in practice. You can cross-reference the O*NET occupation profile for Applications Manager to confirm the standard degree and experience requirements that employers typically use when drafting a PERM job description.
Can I change employers after my I-140 is approved but before I get my green card?
Yes, if your I-140 has been approved for at least 180 days and your adjustment of status application has been pending for at least 180 days, portability rules under AC21 allow you to change to a same or similar Applications Manager role without losing your priority date. The new role must be in the same occupational classification. Confirm the new employer's USCIS filing history supports ongoing green card cases before accepting any offer.
