Green Card Cyber Security Architect Jobs
Cyber Security Architect roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires employers to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available. Most positions fall under SOC code 15-1212, and sponsoring employers must meet DOL prevailing-wage requirements before filing an I-140 petition.

Translate your credentials into PERM-ready documentation
Gather degree transcripts, professional certifications like CISSP or CISM, and employment letters that map directly to the SOC 15-1212 job duties. PERM audits frequently target roles with vague credential histories, so specific documentation reduces denial risk.
Target employers already running PERM cases
Search the OFLC Wage Search to identify companies that have filed labor certifications for Cyber Security Architect or related titles. Employers with active PERM filings have in-house processes and legal budgets already allocated, cutting months off your start date.
Use Migrate Mate to filter green-card-sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to surface companies with documented EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship history for security architecture roles. This filters out employers who say they'll sponsor but have no PERM filing record to back it up.
Confirm the wage level before accepting an offer
Your offered salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for SOC 15-1212 at the worksite location. Verify the correct wage level using the OFLC Wage Search before signing an offer, because a below-prevailing wage requires renegotiation before PERM can be filed.
Clarify EB-2 versus EB-3 with your sponsoring employer
Employers often default to EB-3 because the job requirements are easier to defend at audit. If you hold a master's degree or can document ten years of specialized experience, push for EB-2, which can move faster for most nationalities outside India and China.
File I-140 concurrently with PERM when your priority date allows
Once PERM is certified, USCIS permits concurrent I-140 filing and, for some nationalities, concurrent I-485 adjustment of status. Confirming this option with your employer's attorney at the offer stage prevents unnecessary delays between certification and permanent residency.
Green Card Cyber Security Architect: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Cyber Security Architect role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Cyber Security Architect positions qualify for both categories. EB-3 applies to roles requiring a bachelor's degree, while EB-2 applies when the position requires a master's degree or when you can document at least ten years of progressive, specialized experience. Employers set the minimum requirements in the PERM job description, which must genuinely reflect the role.
How is PERM green card sponsorship different from H-1B for this role?
H-1B visa is a temporary work visa subject to an annual lottery, while PERM-based green card sponsorship leads to permanent residency and has no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most nationalities. The PERM process takes longer, often 18 to 36 months from filing to an approved I-140, but the outcome is lawful permanent residence rather than a renewable temporary status. Employers must also demonstrate through recruitment that no qualified U.S. worker was available.
What does the PERM labor certification process require for a Cyber Security Architect?
Your employer files a Form 9089 with DOL after completing a mandatory recruitment period, typically 30 to 60 days, advertising the role at the prevailing wage. DOL audits are common for specialized technology roles like Cyber Security Architect, so your employer must retain all recruitment records. Once PERM is certified, the employer files an I-140 petition with USCIS to establish your immigration priority date.
How do I find employers who will actually sponsor a Cyber Security Architect for a green card?
Use Migrate Mate to search companies with verified PERM and I-140 filing history for security architecture roles. Employers who have sponsored similar positions before already understand the cost and timeline, which makes them far more likely to commit. Filtering by sponsorship history removes the uncertainty of relying solely on a recruiter's word.
Can my employer start the PERM process while I'm on an H-1B, and what happens to my status during the wait?
Yes, your employer can file a PERM labor certification while you're on H-1B status. Once your I-140 is approved and your priority date is current, you file for adjustment of status. If your I-140 has been approved for more than 180 days, AC21 portability rules allow you to change employers or roles without losing your priority date, as long as the new role is in a similar occupational category.
