Green Card Azure Engineer Jobs
Azure Engineer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM labor certification, which requires your employer to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available before filing your I-140 petition. Cloud infrastructure demand makes this a strong candidate for employer-sponsored permanent residency.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as an Azure Engineer
Align your credentials to EB-2 requirements
EB-2 requires an advanced degree or its equivalent in a relevant field like computer science or information systems. A U.S. master's degree or a bachelor's plus five years of progressive Azure-specific experience can satisfy the advanced-degree equivalency standard.
Document your Azure specializations before applying
PERM labor certification requires your employer to define the minimum job requirements. Certifications like Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate become part of that definition, so hold current credentials before your employer drafts the job posting.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Search the DOL OFLC disclosure data for companies that have filed PERM applications under SOC code 15-1252 (Software Developers) or 15-1244 (Network and Computer Systems Administrators) to identify employers already experienced with cloud engineering sponsorship.
Search for green card sponsoring jobs on Migrate Mate
Filter by Azure Engineer roles on Migrate Mate to find employers actively willing to sponsor EB-2 or EB-3 green cards. This cuts out the guesswork of cold-applying to companies that have never navigated PERM for technical cloud roles.
Negotiate the PERM timeline into your offer stage
PERM advertising requirements take a minimum of 60 days before DOL filing, and analyst review can add several more months. Confirm during offer negotiations that the employer will start the labor certification process promptly after your start date to avoid multi-year delays.
Understand concurrent filing eligibility before I-140
If your priority date is current when your employer files the I-140, you can concurrently file Form I-485 to adjust status without waiting for a separate approval notice. USCIS allows this for most EB-3 applicants from countries without significant backlogs.
Green Card Azure Engineer: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Azure Engineer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Azure Engineer positions qualify for EB-3 as skilled workers requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Roles requiring a master's degree or demonstrating specialized expertise in enterprise cloud architecture can qualify for EB-2. Your employer's job description drives the classification, so the stated minimum requirements matter significantly during PERM drafting.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for Azure Engineers?
H-1B visa sponsorship is temporary and subject to an annual lottery cap, while EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship is permanent and has no lottery. The tradeoff is time: PERM labor certification adds months to the process before the I-140 is even filed. For most countries outside India and China, EB-3 priority dates move quickly enough that the total timeline to permanent residency is three to five years from PERM filing.
What does the PERM process actually require from an Azure Engineer candidate?
Your employer must post the Azure Engineer role publicly, conduct recruitment through DOL-required channels, and demonstrate no qualified U.S. worker was rejected. You provide documented proof of your qualifications matching the job's minimum requirements. Gaps between your actual skills and the PERM job description can cause audit issues, so your credentials should align precisely with what the employer files.
How can I find Azure Engineer jobs that offer green card sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for Azure Engineer roles where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor EB-2 or EB-3 green cards. Generic job boards don't filter by sponsorship type, so you can waste significant time applying to companies that only offer H-1B transfers or no sponsorship at all. Targeting employers with established PERM filing history in cloud engineering dramatically improves your odds.
Can I switch employers after my I-140 is approved but before I have a green card?
Yes. Once your I-140 has been approved for at least 180 days and your I-485 adjustment of status application has been pending for at least 180 days, you can change employers under AC21 portability rules. The new role must be in the same or a similar occupational classification, which is broadly interpreted for Azure engineering roles that share core cloud infrastructure responsibilities.
