Green Card Chief Administrative Officer Jobs
Chief Administrative Officer roles can qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires employers to document recruitment efforts before filing an I-140 petition. CAO positions typically satisfy EB-2 advanced-degree requirements, making employer-sponsored permanent residency a realistic path for qualified foreign professionals.

Align your credentials to EB-2 requirements
CAO roles almost always support EB-2 classification, but PERM audits scrutinize whether your graduate degree directly relates to administrative management. Gather transcripts, degree equivalency evaluations, and any professional certifications before you start applying.
Target employers with PERM filing history
Search OFLC PERM disclosure data for companies that have previously certified administrative or operations executive roles. Employers who have navigated PERM before move faster and make fewer procedural errors that stall your case.
Find green card sponsoring CAO jobs on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Chief Administrative Officer openings by employers with active green card sponsorship history. You can see which organizations have filed PERM applications for similar roles, saving weeks of manual research.
Prepare for the prevailing wage determination step
Your employer must submit a prevailing wage request to DOL before advertising the role. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the Level III or Level IV wage for your SOC code and metro area so the offered salary clears the threshold without surprises.
Understand how job duties affect PERM ad requirements
PERM recruitment ads must describe the actual minimum job requirements. If your offer letter lists duties broader than entry-level management, confirm the employer's attorney isn't narrowing the posting to a lower wage level. Mismatches between the ad and your offer letter can trigger audits.
Request an I-140 priority date protection clause
Negotiate for concurrent I-140 filing once PERM is certified. An approved I-140 locks in your priority date even if you later change employers, giving you portability under AC21 for similar executive roles after the 180-day threshold.
Green Card Chief Administrative Officer: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Chief Administrative Officer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
CAO positions typically qualify for EB-2 because employers routinely require a master's degree or a bachelor's degree plus substantial progressive experience in administrative management. EB-3 is also available if the employer's minimum requirements fit the skilled worker category. The classification depends on what the employer certifies as the actual minimum qualifications during PERM, not what you personally hold.
How is green card sponsorship different from H-1B sponsorship for a CAO?
H-1B visa sponsorship is temporary and subject to the annual lottery, which creates uncertainty for executive-level hires. Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 leads to permanent residency with no cap lottery at the EB-2 or EB-3 level for most countries. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification alone takes six months to over a year before the I-140 is even filed.
How long does the full PERM and green card process take for a CAO role?
Expect at least 18 to 36 months from PERM filing to an approved adjustment of status or immigrant visa, assuming no audit or request for evidence. DOL PERM processing currently runs several months for non-audited cases, I-140 adjudication adds more time, and if your priority date is backlogged under the Visa Bulletin, the wait extends further depending on your country of birth.
Where can I find Chief Administrative Officer jobs that include green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search CAO openings filtered by employers with documented PERM and I-140 filing history, so you're targeting organizations that have already committed to green card sponsorship rather than speculating based on company size or reputation. This is especially useful for CAO candidates who need sponsorship confirmed before investing time in a lengthy hiring process.
Can I change employers after my I-140 is approved but before I get my green card?
Yes. Under AC21 portability, once your I-140 is approved and your adjustment of status application has been pending for at least 180 days, you can move to a new employer in a same or similar occupational classification without losing your priority date. For CAO candidates, the new role should remain in administrative or operations management to satisfy USCIS's same-or-similar standard.
