Materials Manager Green Card Jobs
Materials Manager roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires employers to document recruiting efforts before filing an I-140 petition. Supply chain and operations employers regularly sponsor foreign professionals in this role, making it a strong target for candidates pursuing permanent U.S. residency.

Translate your credentials for PERM documentation
If your logistics or supply chain degree is from outside the U.S., get it evaluated by a NACES-member credential evaluation service before your employer starts the PERM process. An unverified foreign degree can stall labor certification.
Target manufacturers with active PERM filings
Search the DOL's OFLC disclosure data filtered for Materials Manager job titles to identify employers with a demonstrated history of PERM filings. Aerospace, automotive, and electronics manufacturers file most frequently for this occupation.
Find green card sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to search Materials Manager roles filtered by employers with active EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship history. It surfaces companies already familiar with PERM requirements for supply chain and procurement roles.
Negotiate PERM timeline expectations during the offer stage
Ask hiring managers directly whether they have an immigration attorney on retainer and how long their typical PERM process takes. First-time sponsors can take 12 to 18 months longer than employers who file regularly.
Verify your prevailing wage classification before PERM begins
PERM requires your employer to pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for Materials Manager roles in your work location. Run the OFLC Wage Search using your job title and ZIP code to verify the wage level before your employer submits the application.

Find Materials Manager JobsMaterials Manager Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Materials Manager role typically qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Materials Manager positions qualify for EB-3 sponsorship, which covers skilled workers and professionals with a bachelor's degree. If your role requires a master's degree or you have a bachelor's plus five or more years of progressive experience in materials management or supply chain, your employer may be able to file under EB-2 instead, which can mean shorter wait times for some nationalities.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency, not a temporary status. There is no annual lottery at the EB-3 level, so your employer can file at any time after PERM is certified. The tradeoff is timeline: the full PERM, I-140, and adjustment of status process typically takes two to four years, compared to an H-1B which can be approved in a few months but requires renewal and has no permanence.
What does the PERM process involve for a Materials Manager position?
Your employer files a labor certification application with DOL showing that no qualified U.S. workers were available for the role at the offered wage. This requires a formal recruitment period, job postings, and documentation of all applicants reviewed. USCIS then reviews the I-140 immigrant petition once DOL certifies the application. The entire process must be completed before you can file for adjustment of status or an immigrant visa.
How do I find employers who will sponsor a Materials Manager for a green card?
Search Migrate Mate to filter Materials Manager roles by employers with documented EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship history. Not every job posting will state sponsorship explicitly, so targeting companies with prior PERM filings in supply chain and operations roles is the most reliable way to identify employers who understand the process and are willing to bear the cost.
Can my employer start the PERM process while I'm on a work visa?
Yes. Employers can begin the PERM labor certification process for you while you hold H-1B or another nonimmigrant work status. Filing early matters because priority dates for some nationalities can mean multi-year waits before you can adjust status. Starting PERM as soon as possible protects your place in the queue, even if you won't be eligible to file I-485 for years.
